    Bought a ROG motherboard and a ROG graphics card from them, the MB is physically damaged and the GPU is malfunctioned. RMA refused for no reason. Worst experience possible. No customer support. Not recommended!

    Response to 19/08 reply, You can make up your story, but 3900x have pins on the CPU itself, not the MB.
  • Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we encourage customers to give their honest feedback on our service. We're always striving to improve. In this case however, we feel like there needs to be some clarification on our end as this is not an accurate recount of the interaction.

    For anyone unfamiliar with the level of service we provide, please look at our other reviews and make an informed decision. We're human, just like you and at the end of the day want you to walk away from your experience with us feeling fantastic. For those still on the fence, this is what happened in this situation:

    The customer contacted us via email explaining he had an issue with his motherboard and graphics card. After a bit of back and forth the customer ascertained that his graphics card was fine and that he found a bent CPU pin on his motherboard. We explained to him that physical damage is not covered as part of the warranty and that CPU pins do not come bent. We explained that we could send it back to the manufacturer for a socket replacement for him but there would be a cost.

    We are more than happy to continue to help get this repaired, please get back in contact with our support team if you would like more help with this.

    Their incorrect 'advice' led to a purchase of incompatible RAM. Rather than admit their part in the error and despite presenting the misleading comment by their staff member that led to the confusion, they pocketed a whopping $73.55 'restocking fee'. Yes, on a couple of sticks of RAM haha. Evil geniuses or just enterprising and edgy business people? I'll let you be the judge. I even offered to meet them halfway and do a swap for the right product, but they were still unable to waive the desire to keep hold of that juicy 'restocking fee'! I wonder what they will treat themselves to with my 70 quid? Maybe at least post a photo of the morning tea shout for me fellas. But seriously do not rely on these guys for help, they truly have no idea what they are doing when it comes to computer advice. I must admit they appear to be seasoned experts at retaining ill-gotten money though, hence 1 star for the effort they have put into building a dishonest establishment to such a level without going broke yet, at least until more people catch on! My mission now is to cost them at least $73.55 in lost profit so I hope I can count on your help, dear reader. If you have just decided not to use this company from reading this or one of of the other posts I will put up around the place, then thanks for your support!

    Unreservedly recommended. When my PC power supply failed a little over a year after I had the system built by Computer Lounge, it was replaced without question (during the Levels 4 and 3 Covid-19 lockdowns). An expert staff member was immediately available via email for sound advice and suggestions regarding the necessary service, as well as the extra RAM I took this opportunity to have added. The rebuilt system was returned carefully packaged for courier delivery and in perfect order. The faultless service I've come to expect from Computer Lounge.

    Deserving of their high rating. Will only shop here from now on.

    Hadn't bought a new computer component since 2014. As I usually buy second hand. I was searching specifically for a 5700xt and couldn't easily see one second hand. So thought why not just get one new for once.

    I called to check pick up times (because of lockdown) they instantly pick up. Instant answer. So I buy, leave the house. In the store greeted and served instantly. Asked a question about another product and the dude was helpful so decided to on the spot buy another SSD. Got home and realized the card had a code to get some free games. Emailed back to check how to unlock. Got a response in only a few hours. This is three wonderful customer service experiences in ONE DAY. Support this store, NZers. I can't say the same for some of the other stores around Auckland. COMPUTER LOUNGE IS THE WAY TO GO!

    Computer Lounge is amazing in so many respects. Paul Pattison responds to every single email and in good time. He is patient, always answering questions. Purely on account of the good reviews I saw, and his email responses, I felt I could trust them, and got the Blue Yeti microphone from him. The service is top notch, and I highly recommend Computer Lounge. I'd be more than happy to make any future purchases from the store. Highly recommended.

    I recently had a high spec custom PC built at Computer Lounge for animation and motion graphics. With looming projects coming up, Ethan put together two potential system proposals for me to choose from, and completed the build in a very short time. He was really helpful in the process of tweaking the build to get exactly what I wanted. For a long-time mac user making the switch, it was a totally painless, efficient and friendly process, and I can't wait to put the system to work! Will definitely be coming back to Computer Lounge for their helpful and professional service and advice.

    I bought a pre-built system at Computer Lounge and received great service in store. I called for some help from someone we'll call Ethan. The help was fantastic, no hassle and fast. Im sure all their representatives are great but because It was so simple and i was understood to the point without even having to repeat myself, i just had to leave a review. I highly recommend computer lounge, they listen and are extremely friendly. I have no regrets buying from there, it's basically my go to store. Thanks computer lounge, you definitely are one of the best. I look forward to going to your store again if i need anything.

    Computer Lounge is absolutely fantastic! I recently had a custom high end PC build done by the team at Computer Lounge and I couldn't be happier. They offered top notch customer support and advice at every stage, from my initial inquiries about putting the build together, right down to the final spec list and build assembly. They were so patient and accommodating in answering all my questions (weeks worth of back and forth emails never went unanswered, and I'm so grateful for that!), and they gladly offered their time and knowledge to help me build the perfect PC for my needs within my budget. I'm so happy with the PC they put together and delivered and they'll be my go-to store for every PC purchase I make in the foreseeable future.     The staff at Computer Lounge are great! I recently put an order through with them, not realising that some of the items weren't in stock (clear on their website, it was my mistake). Their really awesome staff helped me to correct my errors, sorting me out with a different set of parts so I could get at it that day! They really knew their stuff and made the whole process easy.

    Excellent. I had thought of building my own computer. I had evaluated the options and was thinking of embarking on the challenge. I am glad that I did not. The team at Computer Lounge listened (and read all my emails!) and helped me through the process. Perhaps the best part was that I felt that I could bounce ideas, tweak the configuration and talk with a peer about the implications of the design. The sales process was enjoyable and I think that I ended up with a better solution because of it. Cost of the computer was very close to other online vendors but they clearly took their time, did a great job of the building, cooling and wiring, and a full burn-in test. The new Ryzen is working really well - the team even trying new BIOS settings for this latest chip to ensure that I had a stable build. Very happy with the outcome.

    CL and Paul have been nothing but responsive and super helpful.

    They were accommodating with my request for a quote and once I confirmed were good with confirming timelines. They also put care into assembling my custom build and gave me general advice (since it's one of the new AMD3X00 Ryzen CPUs) which is always helpful.

    Would recommend to anyone - prices may seem higher than other retailers but you can't beat the genuine care and service.

    I recently bought a new PC from these guys, after a recommendation from another website.
    Customer service was top-notch all the way through. Very fast response to my questions, provided me with a range of options to upgrade an 'off-the-peg' PC according to what I needed.

    Fast delivery, too, after I confirmed my order.

    I have had nothing but good experiences with Paul and the rest of the team at Computer Lounge.

    Their team have always expressed an interest in helping me with my questions and have given considered answers (which are geared towards what is best for my use case rather than the option with the bigger price tag).

    Thus far they have helped put together a custom Desktop for me, assisted in the purchase of several laptops for different use cases, and a number of peripherals.

    Maybe the best thing I can say however is how well they handle after sales support. Sadly one of the laptops had an issue out of the box and the way that they liaised with the laptop manufacturer and myself to ensure that I had a minimal downtime was wonderful. This was much different to the usual send away and wait approach.

    I've bought multiple items from these guys over the years, always fast and efficient service. The price is always great and they stock quality parts. I've had one warranty issue on a motherboard which they replaced in a speedy and professional manner. Great company to deal with. Still my go to after years, great company to deal with.

    Used to be New Zealand's quality PC builders but not anymore sadly, with their main sales guy Alex leaving I fear that their awesome service and quality of PC and audio knowledge will drop even more than it has over recent years, I will continue to shop there for now only because I need to use my loyalty points I don't want to lose them and there is substantial value in them for me.

    I have since been contacted by the owner of computer lounge he has informed me that [Quote] "unfortunately 'reward points' is going to be stopped". and that I should use mine quickly I really hope they do the right thing and inform all their customers of this and give them enough time to use their points before they just disappear.

    One of New Zealand's Quality PC builders and components store. I have ordered copious amounts of goods ranging from my first prebuilt PC, a bargain GTX 1080, PC chairs and a varied list of PC components and peripherals.

    Lots of deals to be had but just remember to read the T&Cs as most of their deals tend to be based on stock in store not at suppliers. Shipping or pickups are a breeze and if you have a phone number stored, they will text you for pickups.

    Does not have pay after (Laybuy, Oxipay etc) options available yet.

    Just wanted to say thanks for that first PC 4 years ago. (It is still alive and well) I've gone and made my own these days but that was the one that started it all. Well done CL.

    I inadvertently ordered the incorrect PSU. Contacted them, and they were happy to take it back, and just charged me the difference between it and the PSU I wanted. Was a very hassle-free process.

    Good customer support. Depending on what time you give them a message it may take up to the next day but they always respond back as soon as they can and are very friendly while being quick to process your requests. Would definitely go shop there again.

    I went to computer lounge with a build I was looking at completing, and asked for advice. The response I received was amazing and so well detailed that I couldn't have asked for more. My parts were ordered and within a day, they had arrived for me to begin building. Customer Service and Delivery is spectacular.

    Been coming to Computer Lounge for over a decade, friendly knowledgeable staff, great quality of stock and attention to detail. It feels like the type of shop your friends would run, you can go in and chat PC's or headphones for an hour without any pressure to buy. I've even been told to hold off purchases as they're are aware of updates or better stock coming in weeks away.

    Have been buying my PC parts and complete builds from Computer Lounge for a few years now, and they've never done me wrong. Alex is very clued up, and knows what he's talking about when he makes suggestions or recommendations on upgrades.

    All the staff seem to be happy to go the extra mile to make sure customers are happy with the parts/systems they're buying. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

    These folk used to be my go-to for high quality service and fair prices. I've easily done over $10k worth of trade with them. But across the last several purchases, that slick edge they used to have over competitors is simply no longer present. A year ago I would have given them 5 stars. Since then, things have begun to slide. After yet another frustrating encounter today I've finally decided to cease doing business with them and stamp my rating of "Barely acceptable".

    Update: I reached out to Computer Lounge again to see if anything has changed after well over a year. While they acknowledged my feedback and would look into the systemic failures that had occurred on their end, the apology was then undermined by a single ridiculous statement that revealed what they were truly thinking. I'm taking off an extra star for that, and I'll never give these people another cent.

    Updated update, after Computer Lounge responded to this feedback: Beware of being verbally manipulated by this company! They would have you believe they were offering me something special, when in fact they were only alerting me to a store-wide Labour Weekend discount. I felt they owed me more, and was testing them to see how they would rectify much greater losses that occurred as a result of past dealings. In that context, I was asking for so little that it's laughable -- seeking only a token gesture to restore my faith in them as humans and drop all past grievances. When I tried to point this out to them, it quickly got out of hand. I am not the only one who is obstinate in their position.

    Bottom line: this company may be great at dealing with technology (except for website security perhaps), but they need to wise up when it comes to people.

    Thank you for your honest and in-depth feedback.

    We cherish customer feedback, as in most cases it presents us with an opportunity to improve on our processes, however in this instance we would like to offer some insight into this experience to anybody reading this review.

    'Slug' reached out to us via email regarding a product that he wished to purchase, and politely asked us if we were able to offer a price that we had advertised a month prior, which was discounted $100 as part of a limited-time promotion.

    One of our sales team checked with the product manager in charge of the product line, but unfortunately due to an increase in our cost and other factors outside of our control, we were unable to offer the $100 price reduction that 'Slug' had requested. We politely responded (albeit a bit delayed) to 'Slug's' email, apologising that we were unable to meet the previously advertised price, but we informed him that we were able to offer a discount of $90 out of good faith.

    'Slug' was not happy with this offer, stating that like us, he had no incentive to do business.

    We had no obligation to offer a price reduction, however due to the fact that we had slipped up in the past we extended an offer of $90 off the advertised price. 'Slug' rejected this offer.

    Despite our attempts to resolve the situation 'Slug' unfortunately remains obstinate in his position.

    Used to rate this store 10 stars but seems like the recent years with perhaps new staff etc or just change in management, things haven't gone as smooth. Ordered a 6 TB WD drive them from, first one came dead on arrival. So I told them, they said RMA it back (keep in mind I had to spend money to courier it back to them, which I didn't even ask for compensation for) so I sent it back. Unfortunately, bad luck, courier apparently damaged it so now I can't get a replacement drive and I have to seek reimbursement from the courier (keep in mind, I packed it with pretty much the same bubble wrapped CL sent it to me in). A pain in the ass. Ok, I can understand, not exactly their fault but the couriers though seems like the chances of getting my money back from courier is probably going to be an uphill fight.

    Okay, still missing a hard drive so I email them asking in light of this situation, can they offer me a good discount on the same drive, reply says, no they can't since HD prices going up they can only offer me the "same price". So immediately I thought ok fine, if I can get what I paid for originally then it's still kind of ok. I ask if they can put it in the shopping cart the item but then said just buy as usual and send them the order number. I also requested they TEST their drive before sending it to me since I don't want another fault. So in goes the order and everything is well but then I realise they never deducted the cost of what I originally paid in the first invoice ($349.55) (retail is $379.95) so I ask them what's going on and apparently what they meant by "same price" is the retail price that hasn't changed for the last 2-3 weeks. Couldn't they have worded that better???? the price was cheaper before with discount so why call it SAME PRICE, which technically they're not offering at all since anyone can just go on the website and buy it at that price. Why not call it CURRENT PRICE. In fact, if I bought it the week before during their 10 % off week I probably could have got it below $349.55 anyways but apparently, this guy is telling me discounts were impossible. So I lost 350 dollars from the first order because they sent me a faulty drive and now I have to fight the courier company, and now they're trying to rip me off another $380 for another drive that I wouldn't have needed if it wasn't broken to begin with. All i wanted was just the same hard drive at the same price and I expected that they had at least some empathy towards my situation since it was their faulty hard drive which brought me to this in the first place. I've now attempted to cancel the order with them and hopefully that goes off without any issues. Overall, barely acceptable service in my opinion and it's quite sad really since prior to this, I was always positive about this store, recommended it to ALL my friends and even voted for them for the last 3 years as top store fo the year...

    I'll keep some stars on since my other RMA they were quite helpful, even though I had mistakenly thought I bought the hard drive from them and they sorted that out for me anyways.

    Update: they canceled my order at least so I'll give them another star back. Still not really convinced but nothing much to do.

    Update: After some discusssion, they've agreed to meet half way with me (slightly reduction in cost but not as low as the first drive), I understand as a business they need to make money and can't always give the same discount depending on the time and date but I just wanted a small gesture from their side, which they have now given and am happy to raise the feedback up :)

    Update: Feel of the store is a bit better this year and even though there is shipping now, it's quite reasonable. Haven't run into any issues though and that's when the true colours show in any store... so we'll keep observation.

    Update: Again, I realised that their terms state clearly if it's DOA they provide a shipping ticket, which would have AVOIDED all of this. And in fact, at the time, I asked them what to do and they told me to ship it back at my expense. They never credited me back my shipping cost either. In light of this new info years later, I update my rating.

    Excellent supplier, very good comms and great prices. Quick to provide support when goods have been faulty. Shipping can be very slow when they are busy but a faster paid service is available for those impatient types.

    Thursday 29/03/2018, ordered a keyboard on line from Computer Lounge and chose pick up instead of having it delivered by Courier. Saturday 31/03/2018 checked the Computer Lounge website for their store opening hours. It showed that they would be open on any Saturday between 10:00 am - 04:00 pm. Drove to Computer Lounge shop. Arrived there at 10:15 am. Shop was closed and all locked up. Waited until 10:35 am. No sign of anyone from Computer Lounge. Tried to call them on my smartphone. Nobody answered apart from a robot. Surfed to their website on my smartphone outside their shop. Navigated to my order page for the keyboard and left them a message asking them why their website says they will be open when they are closed. Waiting for a reply. Just wasted my petrol and time. Not impressed. They are becoming slack.

    I've never had any issues with orders with Computer Lounge before, then I finally had one.
    My chosen monitor was not available and there was no ETA on when they would get a new one in, so they offered me multiple options.

    Have a different monitor sent to me(the one offered was worth $120 more than the one I chose), wait with regular updates on progress or simply have a full refund.
    I chose to wait at first, then caved and went for the refund, however I rate them highly as they were very quick in responding to my questions and extremely reasonable.

    If you value customer service, Computer Lounge has it in spades.

    Ordered 2 parts from pb tech (with 5 dollars shipping), 2 days later, ordered 2 diffrent parts from cl, the cl parts game 2 days earlier and i didnt have to pay for shipping, Also they have some AMAZING sales, save 300 on parts, 10/10
