    1star for the return policy unlike any others tech company in nz that i used to purchase. Normally they would accept items return to them in 7-14 days with full refund. This is the first time in my online shopping that they refunded my refund into my mightyape account, forcing me to purchase overpriced items in their shop. DO NOT RECOMMENDED. Seriously, you should go look somewhere else for the items you're looking for, there are plenty of stores out there with cheaper price and better policy.

    I've been a long time customer of Mighty Ape, and while I have had a few problems, they have been few and far between. Whenever a problem occurs, the customer staff have been helpful and quickly solved the issue to my satisfaction.

    I trust Mighty Ape to the point where I am a member of their "Prime Ape" program, and order multiple times a month through them.

    24hr delivery guarantee was not met, it was 3 days late. no contact phone number. generic emails. however they refund the $3 delivery charge when customers complain.
    goods arrived faulty. The support staff was nice. They kindly sent a courierpost label to send the goods back to be "assessed by their supplier". Now gotta wait 10 days to see if they will give me a refund.
    Overall experience have left a sour taste I gotta say.

    Pre ordered a game 4+ months ago, can't play it on release day as they send it at the last possible time on the day before it is playable. Game can't even unlock early, so sending it a day earlier would not be a problem. Will never shop here again.

    I purchaised a laptop 9 MONTHS AGO from mightyape and ever since IT HAS BEEN BROKEN and I have been emailing and sending it back to them (3 TIMES) And they won't refund me! They keep saying that its fixed so they dont have to do anything and that they can't find the problems that I have and it is affecting my University work, my mental health, and takes away my patience with this company. Awful customer service, I saved for 2 years from my part time job in between studying, and to have my first ever large purchase to be followed by this is beyond dissapointing. I will never shop from such a place again and I will not stop pestering until I get my 1900 dollars back.

    Never had a problem with goods or shipping. Communications is pretty solid. Have not had to resolve any 'issues' as yet so will upgrade rating if I get a chance to try this aspect of Mighty Apes service and it warrants it.

    Not always cheapest, but consistently fast. The Primate membership offers free shipping for $4 per month. Useful to join for a few months if you're looking to buy a few things. I paid for the 3 month membership, and just a couple of orders to a rural address (which normally attracts a postal surcharge) have made it worthwhile.

    I would not recommend anyone to buy motherboards from these guys.

    No 1. They take ages to send the goods
    No 2 Their goods were faulty and they do not even accept that. Because of the one i bought was sent to them twice and lastly when i sent it they say the pins were broken. I am sure that is how they sent it. and no wonder it didn't work.
    No 3 When I went to the technicians to check they said another guy had come before who had bought the motherboard that didn't work. So I was very convinced it was their fault.
    No 4 Their products are refurbished.
    No 5 They do not know customer service.
    No 6 There is no phone number and they never ring you and hide behind the emails and say it is not their fault.
    No 7 They just do not give you a solution back.

    I bought the CPU and the RAM . They both seem to be working as it was tested.
    But I will not recommend anyone to buy a mother board. I just have wasted $ 420 with them. Its a shame that they do not help the customer with the solution.

    Not always the best prices, but their shipping is speedy, and the site is well designed - only really needing more search and category options to break down and view only what I want. The availability of products and expected-delivery are all prominently stated. My most recent order was a pre-order, and I received explicit status emails through to shipment. Prices are competitive. I would choose Mighty Ape even if I had to pay a bit more because I trust them.

    These guys have usually appeared in the top 4 cheapest places for the things I've bought. I've purchsed 6 items from them, all of them matching what is advertised online. Their automatic email system is one of the best I've seen, giving prompt and updated info. There have been times where I've needed to contact their support, and it's been slower than I'd like, but I'd still consider them a place to buy with no hesitation.

    I live reasonably close to Mighty Ape so tend to pick up my orders. I find their system works pretty well. I order as a pick up, they send me an email when its ready to pick up, I drop in and 5-10 minutes later (depending upon how busy they are), I have what I ordered.

    Never had an issue with them and like others here I have bought a few things from them over the years.

    they aren't always the cheapest but they are similar to the JB's and the WH's and they are reputable in my opinion (and they have a physical location you can access which I thinks important).

    Ordered items all tagged as in stock on a Friday and paid for Saturday delivery. Then, without being notified, one major component was split for delivery at a later date due to being on back order thus making Saturday delivery meaningless...I feel I did not receive the service I have paid for.

    Prices are ridiculous and can't be justified. Look at these guy on PriceSpy - 9 times out of 10 they're either the most expensive retailer or in the top four most expensive. Their price match policy is awful too. It'll take more than 24 hours to get a reply, and it's usually a no for some obscure reason ("It's on sale", "It looks parallel imported", "They have a physical store as well"). Even if the non-sale price at the other retailer is significantly below the Mighty Ape price, they won't even match that because of the sale price.

    Their rewards program - banana points? - is terrible too. It's like FlyBuys but without anything useful or good. You basically save up to buy utter tat you get free with other stuff. V Bottle Opener Keyring? I get that free every time I buy a can of V at the dairy. I have six of them, and they want 2000 banana points for it. Trashy wall art featuring a trite quote about love? Starting at 10000. And hold me back - I feel like I really need to spend 2000 banana points on a plastic plane toothpaste tube holder.

    It's around 20c spend per banana point. That means that to get the "Plane Toothpaste Holder (Blue)" you have to spend $425. The iPad mini 3 screen protector from Belkin is 20000 points - that's $4250 of spending for a $20 screen protector. And it's not even the latest version of the iPad mini either. You could buy SIX actual iPad Mini 4 128gb (or 5 if it's from Mighty Ape because they're charging $150 more than everyone else) for the effective purchase price of this one packet of screen protectors from Mighty Ape. So it looks like banana points rewards are actually Mighty Ape's garbage repository for stuff they know they'll never sell.

    RMA process is awful. They have no DOA policy, so if you receive a faulty product then they'll send it away for testing for an unknown period of time. They take forever to respond to emails about anything. Their prices are about 20-25% more than their competitors, and they provide a much lower level of service. The one and only advantage is that they can deliver the same day, and they sell one or two brands that no-one else does. But that rapidly pales into insignificance when you appreciate just how bad the entire experience - excluding fast delivery - is.

    Only ever buy from them on sale because otherwise you're asking for it. And only ever buy products where you can deal with the manufacturer directly for warranty purposes, or which don't require a warranty, because Mighty Ape are the epitome of a lazy company creaming off the top from people who don't know better. You pay a premium, but you don't get the service.

    Bough monitor, chair, gadgets. Lots of things. One thing that always impresses me is the delivery - usually next day. Once when it wasn't I asked what was happening it arrived next day and I got a free delivery voucher :) What I love about mightape is the range of things they have and that you can get vouchers from credit card points.

    Review for a purchase couple of years back, bought a monitor, turned out to be faulty. The support team told me I can't return it for warranty because I don't have the original packaging and items with it. This was a clear breach of the consumer's guarantee act. Never buy from these guys if you expect them to honor your consumer rights.

    Purchased PC components from Mighty Ape dozens of times over the past few years as they have the fastest shipping and competitive prices (they have a great price match request mechanism which has often gotten me something for the best price on PriceSpy), and free shipping with Prime Ape. Have never had any issues with their customer service, for example received a PC case from MA with damage from being dropped, after I contacted their customer service they promptly arranged for a courier pickup and sent a replacement which I had 2 days after receiving the first one. Only Playtech and Computer Lounge can compete with the level of service from MA. Very, very satisfied and will continue using Mighty Ape as my first preference.

    Great service with fast shipping. Ordered a few games, supplements and electronics. Had an issue with a router, called up, they sent a courier for pickup and replaced it under warranty at no extra shipping costs. That was the highlight for me.
    They also have amazing level and variety stock when it comes to games. And when on sale, they have the cheapest prices as well.

    I only give 3 stars because I did receive most of my money back (sans a couple of dollars,) although my $20 dollar voucher has now been totally wasted. I ordered a replacement hard drive for my computer and it arrived resting flat on the bottom of a relatively flimsy box with the inadequate packing material just stuffed on top. Packing and sending a hard drive in this fashion is the epitome of stupidity and indicates that Mighty Ape should stay out of markets which are beyond their level of competence.

    UPDATED: MightyApe have failed 3 times ever since I had to use their services, this Christmas 2016, I needed to buy a case for my sister before Christmas, and I had ordered it around the 10th, weeks ticked by and MightyApe dragged out the delivery date until I finally contacted them for them to say they don't have stock anymore, I promptly ordered the exact same product from another retailer and had it sent to me in 3 days versus MightyApe waiting for 14+ days.

    For anyone who doesn't want to read my rant, here's a TL;DR
    "BUYERS BEWARE, Mighty Ape are devious thieves that will sell you imported goods for a profit, they will rip you off and hope they get away with it scot free, do not buy any video games whatsoever from them unless you want to risk being given an inoperable game.

    Dear Mightyape, over the past years from 2011-2012 you have been a wonderful service but in 2013 your service has been an inconvienience and an absolutely horrible experience, I've had to wait 19 days(EDIT: ALMOST 2 MONTHS) and still counting to be refunded for a faulty headset I received earlier in this year, but now fastforward to December and I buy a 3DS and the latest Pokemon game, everything is fine and dandy until I go and register everything until 'bing bong' the game fails to register correctly leaving me confused.

    I ring up Nintendo support immediately and ask why this is happening, they later go on to explain that I have been given a copy of the game with the wrong region, this region turning out to be in EUROPE, why would a New Zealand company be importing copies of games that should be the proper version for the country they are in, is Mighty Ape turning to swindling and stealing to make a profit off their customers by importing bulk from Europe to pass it down to the consumer and for them to hopefully keep their gob shut, I think so from my recent experience, afterwards from contacting Nintendo support I head off to the Mighty Ape support and I am met with solutions such as "Send it back and we'll give you another" or the same thing yet get a refund if the second one failed and finally, just simply getting a refund.

    But this isn't just whining and moping for no reason, because if I get a refund then I will only be recompensated with a mere $50 which means I would have to fork out another $20 to get a game from their competitors, why you may ask to why I make such a big deal over a single DS game?

    Well, it's quite simple that at the time of this review is that Nintendo are offering a free game to 3DS owners if they buy eligible games, the game being offered is $79.99 from Mightyape and I'm not going to fall over and lay there and submit to defeat, I am strongly disappointed with Mighty Ape this year and I am deciding whether to use the Website at all in the future.

    I may bring in customer affairs too if it is applicable to my current situation.

    EDIT: I've been told they originally had the New Zealand version but sold out so they bought European versions, this is still unacceptable that they have done this and that they don't tell you exactly what you're buying, as this is a game and the game saves onto the cartridge itself it means I have wasted many days of in-game play for nothing, my rating has decreased because of my wasted time.

    EDIT2: As I've said in my previous edit, BUYERS BEWARE as they do not tell you what version of the game you'll be getting, you could just as well get a European one because of how they operate their systems, they're not very reliable and I don't advise anyone to deal with them unless you're buying something other than electronics.

    Pre-ordered the limited edition Nintendo 2ds with Pokemon sun, waited patiently for release day and awesome.. it arrived at my door on 1st December as promised!

    The only problem being it was very poorly packed and had a crushed box, shattered screen, cracked casing and to be honest looked like someone had driven over it with a car.

    The disappointment is real... i feel like i got a lump of charcoal on xmas morning.

    Now while this is not totally mighty apes fault (the courier is probably at fault as well) the packaging on Mighty Apes part was very below par for an electronic device (an A3 sized non-padded bag, with the device tossed in there to move about willy nilly with a loose bit of card wrapped around it) maybe they thought it was a Tshirt they were sending?

    And i am now left with the prospect of waiting weeks for a now totally sold out item to come back in stock.... and hopefully (if they can even track one down) then that will be shipped to me in one piece.

    edit: Mighty Ape gave me $15 store credit & a free shipping code after several emails which is a nice gesture but doesn't really improve my situation.

    edit: Mighty Ape sourced a replacement unit within a few days but wont send it until the damaged one arrives back which is a bit frustrating given i am not a new customer... the return courier will take at least a week as i have to wait for the return shipping bag to arrive from mighty ape in the first instance, and then the standard priority return parcel to make its way back to them. The saga continues....

    edit: 18 days later i have the replacement unit (packaged the same as the first unit, so nothing was learned by mighty ape by this ordeal, i had even sent it back to them in a nice rigid box with padding which they could have just re-used)

    edit: My last update to this is that i must have the worst luck because the L trigger on the replacement is faulty... but I am just over it at this point, not interested in waiting another 18+ days to get another replacement.

    Ordered two products from the so far - one was ~$200 headphones and the other one - $740 graphics card.

    In both cases the items were delivered the same day (I chose "same day delivery for just a few $$ extra), were nicely packed, in sealed boxes - unopened and of course unused.

    Not sure how they do if I need to make warranty claim, but both items work fine so far, so I am extremely happy overall.

    One of the best online stores I have dealt with, it's a shame they don't have a fully fledged store though. Delivery is always prompt for in stock items, haven't really had a problem with any of my orders except one time I ordered some yam yams but it was already expired but they quickly refunded me so that was good. Items are a bit overpriced here, well not really overpriced just mainly sold at retail value which most online stores avoid doing nowadays so hardly competitive. Even though prices may be a bit higher, they do offer the biggest range of products and are always reliable to deal with and I've spent thousands on hundreds of orders and will continue spending more. Ordering items from their supplier is a bit slow though compared to other online retailers...
    Although being a fairly big customer (IMO) they don' really offer more or provide a better service like you'd get from other companies, they treat everyone equal which isn't a bad thing but something you wouldn't expect normally. Their customer service response time is quite slow and they don't really have any power to do anything! Seems like only the product managers have power to do things and they take ages to respond or do anything. Takes 1-2 days for a price match request and by that time a sale might already be over elsewhere so they do lose a bit of sales from me that way.

    Have used MA for years and their service is always above par compared to other similar businesses. Lost few marks though from me when I had a incident. It wasn't a minor incident as it happened on the same problem, they didn't give a clear explanation what went wrong/hiding from me, and they didn't compensate for this issue after it was all their fault.

    First major incident: I received the wrong item and then it happened again on the same order without an explanation. I didn't mind the first item not being the correct model I ordered as return and exchange was available, but I'm really displeased and annoyed that the second time the item came was also the first mistake again so I received the wrong items twice.

    I made it clear in the email what I originally ordered for. I waited over a week (queens birthday was coming, so my delivery was going to be delayed during the public holiday/weekends) till I can build my PC. I was really agitated as the item was in stock but there was no explanation why I kept getting sent the wrong item. It took over two weeks till I got the correct item, with no explanation or compensation from MA.

    Trying to contact them took a bit too much trouble, as I tried to call them back to check details of my order and I couldn't get a response for a whole day. Maybe lack of staff? That's the only bad thing. Great pricing, and the package came with chocolate in it!
