Purchased Logitech G920 steering wheel and shifter from Lower Hutt store which said they were in stock and i thought thats cool because i will be able to pick it up. Turns out that it doesn't mean it is in stock and they are getting it sent and now i have to wait till atleast Monday over the weekend. Don't advertise that you have stock when you dont currently have stock

I got a "returned by customer" floor model (washing machine) when I paid for a new one. First (upon full payment) I was told that I will receive my appliance within 4 days. Then it did not show up for 2 weeks. When I contacted them they said I can settle for the display model or wait for indefinite period. I went for the floor model as I really needed the washing machine. When delivered I saw a tiny label on top saying "returned by customer". So be very careful and read and reread every single sticker pasted on the appliances. And don't expect any staff to actually be helpful. They are there to just misguide you. This was my first time buying a big appliance from Noel Leeming....so thanks for teaching me the lesson early on. I will steer clear of this place in future.

Brought phone to be repaired under warranty. Got initial fault rectified but broke another thing. I rejected the phone and their solution for me was take the phone and "shut up". This is official position of store manager. Now let's see what Disputes Tribunal will say

Ordered online in the evening, product received next morning, (Auckland metro). Great price, easy online interface. Great service! Time to stand out in the market, stop using soft plastic for wrapping and padding, users like me want to see recyclable products, will 5 star the next review if you can deliver without extra plastic.

Their website has a click and collect function, stupid me assumed their website would be accurate and actually have the stock they say they do.

But of course, they had no stock at the shop in question, or anyone else in town apparently. So they had to ship it in from elsewhere, should have just delivered it to me instead. Wasted about four days.

So lesson learned, call the store first.

We went to the Paraparaumu branch to buy a washing machine last Thursday. We chose one and handed over our money. Then we were told they didn't have it in stock and it would be 4 working days. Could have said that in the beginning. On Monday we get a call to say they do not have any of these washing machines in local stores and it will be 14 working days before delivery. After pushing them they offered the store demo machine which is all banged up for a $50 discount. We declined the poor offer. Maybe $200 off the price for the state of the demonstration model would be nearer the mark. So now they have our money and we have no idea when we will get the washing machine we bought and paid for. This is the first and last time I will ever buy anything from Noel Leeming. Terrible service, terrible follow up service, terrible phone conversations. They have no remorse, just take your money and do not care.

Their staff always try to rip of customers just so they can make commission. They dont care about the customer needs and dont care about what the customer is asking for. They will only sell you the stuff that they can more commission from. In march 2017 I bought an imac from Noel Leeming Albany. I told this guy i need the fastest machine for graphic design and video editing. I told him i will be dealing with 6-8k Red raw footage. I want everything maxed out. This guy made me spend $7000 on machine which is still giving me lot of problems. Not even half the speed i asked for. I wanted to custom build windows. But he pushed me so much to buy this piece of crap. Also i told them that I will be moving outside of New Zealand. So I need apple care. So this guy told me he will give me International 3 years apple care warrenty for $400 (which i paid extra) but in their system he entered some stupid third party warrenty so he can make commission again. Today i my machine completely stopped working. Its super hard to get hold of these as they dont care now. I lost 3 clients in the past because if it (worth $4800-$7000) Today machine is sitting with Apple and I cant do any work. I had some work due 2 days ago which i have to refund $1300. Costing me $942 for now to fix and wont get it back for a week. So can’t do any work for a week (which is my only income) plus apple will let me know if anything else needs to be fixed (which may cost even more of top) I will never recommend to go and take any help from any sales person. Just do your own research otherwise they can easily fool you around for their own commission. They won’t care how it can affect you in the long run. This was the worst purchase of my life and still struggling. Now saving up again to buy another $7-8000 machine 😔

Walked into Noel Leeming Porirua... Staff too busy texting to provide service. When I shoulder tapped someone they reluctantly went and got a device out and passed me onto a surly checkout operator who snarled at me until I gave up trying to pay my money and left. Took my $1000 to the competition, was greeted with a smile, they were more than happy to take my money. Even gave me a discount.

    Horrible service.
    - Ordered range hood online (in stock). Delivery for next Thursday.
    - I called Friday morning and asked where it was.
    - Staff said on order and will check and get back to me by end of day.
    - No reply by 5pm Friday, so I contacted them again. Staff said order mistake in item code, and suppliers closed until Monday. So no update until Monday.
    - Staff apologized with template text ("mistakes happen from "time to time"). I asked if they could share my suffering as a customer by giving a discount or voucher to show sincerity. Staff replied they would forward it to management. I'm not holding my breath for that. (Don't want a Noel Leeming voucher though. Don't want to go through this painful experience again.)
Conclusion: Customers need to make big effort to receive products from Noel Leeming and will suffer a painful shopping experience. Hoping to receive my order within a month.

Had to purchase ink today for our Cannon Printer. Closest store Noel Leeming Westgate - 5 ink cartridges - charged $215 - Found overcharged on one by $4 (as staff did not look at price tag just scanned them all through at the same price) I asked for the refund. Thought pretty expensive so went to nearby competitors to check out their price - Their products were $4 per cartridge less?? I was overcharged by $20 so back to Noel Leeming - offered to refund to meet competitors price but I asked for full refund - Not shopping at Noel Leeming Westgate again, overpriced with staff who let the custormer know how problematic it is asking for a refund and advising they can't control pricing.

Crap service @ the Papanui store. Went there to get a mouse - when I got it home - it didn't work so took it back. The old guy working there tried the mouse on 3 different PC's before he got it to work and then tried to tell me it was my fault.
Should have gone to Warehouse stationary to begin instead of wasting my time and money

Bought a few camera accessories from Noel Leeming a couple of weeks ago. My salesperson was really helpful in helping my choose the most suitable products and really knew what he was talking about. I ended up going back to return a camera bag a few days later as I found it didn't fit everything like how I wanted and received a full refund with no questions asked.

Guy who served me on Sunday was keen on getting me to purchase the phone they had on special there. Problem is they did not have the phone or the extra bonus headphone on site. I said maybe I should do it online, but it seemed clear to me now he wasn't going to let a potential sale slip by and assured me the item would be delivered to my house the next day. I waited 3 days and no sign of it. Finally I rang up customer service and they were perplexed by why the person who served me didn't just have the other nearby stores send the item to me as there were plenty of them in stock - he instead had tried getting one's from Auckland sent down to me. So, it's now Saturday and I'm still without a phone as Courier Post is now giving me BS on why I couldn't pick it up from their depot (but that is another story). Bottom-line, I won't be going to the Tory Street Wellington Branch ever again, and most likely any other branch of Noel Leeming.

I see a lot of bad reviews here about Noel Leeming, but my experience with them so far has been great. I recently bought a lens from them(at a great discounted price) that turned out faulty. It was replaced with out any problem. I was in store for about 15 min. And the price was cheaper than buying a parallel import. Sometimes is better to buy things from a store than online.

Well I was cut off by a delivery van in Mt Wellington by a mentally deranged Noel Leeming driver. Is this relevant to the store? You bet it is. Sign writing was all over the van and that's how he wanted to treat the general public. How I wish I had a dash cam!

With my first online purchase experience, I went to the store the same day to collect and to my surprise the item was much cheaper with an in-store promotion. The salesperson advised that I should contact customer support and they would be able to help me with the price difference. This may have been wrong advice from the salesperson, but the customer phone support was terrible and outright rude when I explained the situation and did not want to know (I was promised a callback also which didn't happen) Online price matching with the same company doesn't apply?

My 2nd online purchase experience today; an item is in-stock at a distant store (stock is low, I was wanting to secure it) - I have waited >24 hours so far and it is still not displayed as ready to collect and no updates (the account purchases online site is not working, with 'unable to load your purchases''). On calling customer support to determine its status I was initially on hold on the phone for 15 mins. On reaching them, they were helpful and tried to contact the store twice but couldn't The advice was because its listed as in-stock I should be able to go and collect it; I hope that's correct as it will be a waste of a trip if not!

If Amazon does set-up in NZ/AU I hope Noel Leemings (and maybe others) will buck their ideas up (my extensive experience of them and others while overseas was awesome in comparison - in-stock items would be ready to collect in 2 hours and at best price).

UPDATE: 2nd purchase above - the item was in-store, staff were friendly and I was advised that although stock was low the item was reserved for me on collection. Online purchases/updates were only processed during weekdays by the store (unfortunately I am far from the store weekdays)

I actually used to think these guys were decent but after my recent order being cancelled and had to hear a load of rubbish they made up, I've decided that i am not going to purchase from them again. Customer service was useless and wouldnt provide me with any reason. So fast to take my money from my credit card, takes forever to return it when they decide to cancel it. Sent me a load of rubbish about not passing security checks etc when you already gave me an order confirmation and taken the money off the credit card. I've been using the same account and credit card for multiple purchases before, even less than 1 month ago and there has never been a problem. Even after telling them about it, wouldnt give me my order.

Bought a Samsung front loader, no issue with the product but the customer service from Noel Leeming is some of the worst I've experienced.

Samsung at the time were offering a warranty upgrade.

As I purchased online rather than in a physical store I didn't receive the upgraded warranty card and despite 3 weeks going by with multiple emails and phone calls, I have still not received the documents.

At first I was told I didn't need to worry by a CS rep, that the warranty would be recorded at their end despite Samsung stating that the customer must retain the extended warranty card and my invoice making no reference to the promotional warranty deal.

I have asked so many times and been dismissed I may need to go to head office to resolve.

Will now only shop at Noel Leeming of I can't source elsewhere. Very poor experience.

I recently took my 6 month old FitBit back because it had a cracked strap. They gave me a whole new one on the spot with literally no questions asked. I presumed that this was FitBit's policy but someone else at work took had the same issue after just one week and took it back to JB who told them to contact FitBit directly, i.e. did nothing. Other warranty claims at Noel Leeming have haven't always been quite so straightforward but they've come through in the end, and have never sent me away without doing anything at all. For me the handling of warranty issues is important and the reason I wouldn't buy something like a FitBit or camera etc online.

I must say, service does vary with store. I went in to look at a surface pro 4, the sales guy who came over told me a series of incorrect information about the device, something I know because I do my research before hand. when asked if they could give a better price, was reluctant to give any at all (giving me a load of crap like how this is the best price there is). This I know is a load of shit because I went to other stores like Harvey Norman and their retail price was already LOWER than the price of Noel Lemmings (unfortunate that Harvey Norman listings don't appear on pricespy half the time) AND they gave me FURTHER discount after that. Obviously, the sales guy is bullshitting me and wants to maximize profit on his end. Did not end up buying at their store, shame, if he was 30 bucks less greedy, he would have made the sale.

If you give them a price match, they will most likely do it but not a cent less and usually doesn't account for shipping if it is a large item. So it might end up costing you more anyways.

Update: So went in for another price match on a galaxy tab A tablet. Told them it's sold at 448.9 at PBTech and if they could price match it. Guy has the audacity to tell me oh we can't price match online stores. So I said, PB isn't an online store, they have multiple retail stores all over NZ. So then he said, oh na we don't price match outside of local stores, and i'm like what? So I went online to check their website and there it was, clearly written price match any NZ store, no rubbish about local stores. So I got back and confront another sales guy, who tried to give me the same rubbish until I said no that's not what the policy said. Then he tries tell me it's a grey area????? How is it grey at all!, eventually I got the price match but the only advantage was that I got the tablet straight away instead of getting it overnight from PBTech, who has free shipping anyways! With support services that crap and deceitful, if I have any issues with warranty, it's probably going to be an uphill battle but whatever, I'm ready.

Poor range of laptops, decent range of smartphones, good range of accessories. Worth shopping around of course, but when you need something in a pinch their massive retail footprint makes it easy to pick up quickly. Items that are in stock with supplier rather than held in stock at stores or head office takes way too long though, and stores get real unhappy about transferring stock between branches. Also very hard to grab a salesperson when busy as often there are two or three attending to a single customer.

Went to the Manukau Supacentre with my partner to buy a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and nobody wanted to serve us, we couldn't just grab the phone from the display cabinet either you actually needed a staff to get one for you from the storeroom. After waiting a couple of minutes we finally grab a hold of one of the staff members and he gets the phone then hands it to us and tells us to pay at the counter. After we headed to the counter to pay, the girl at the counter brings out her phone and starts using it then walks away after a few seconds leaving us with nobody? The other counter was occupied with another customer and after 5 minutes somebody finally got to the counter and served us.

What should have been a 5 minute shopping experience turned into a 30 minute waiting game and this really was a waste of my time, will probably never shop there again.

I ordered a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua for $199 during their online clearance sale on Friday, I saw this as a good deal as it was more expensive elsewhere. They had advertised that the stock was limited and once it was gone there would be no more. I ordered the phone while there was still lots of stock available but over the weekend the stock just seemed to disappear.

On Saturday morning I got an email to say that my order had been completed, yet I hadn't received my phone, little did I know that this meant that the online portion of the order had been processed. I contacted Noel Leeming about the issue and they informed me that the order had been processed online and that it has been sent to store and that it would be dispatched on Monday.

Later in the afternoon on Monday I hadn't received a tracking number and conformation that my order had been dispatched, so I contacted Noel Leeming again and they informed me that the phone had sold out long before Friday and that no one had removed it from their website.

I understand that these kinds of errors can occur, but no one notified me that they had run out of stock when I spoke to them on Saturday even though they had run out of stock earlier on.

I am still happy to note that they promptly processed a refund for their error

This seems to be a frequent occurrence from Noel Leeming

Not often competitive on price, but branches everywhere. We need to ask ourselves: Do we want to get to the stage where on-line is the only option and you can't really look over your next appliance? Sometimes you need to push the buttons and slide the sliders and look inside, etc and photos just don't tell the whole story.

Anyway, enough ranting. Of the chain stores where there's always "one near you" I think Noel Leemings are probably the pick of the crop these days. Who know where we'll be in a years time, but for now they would be my first stop.

Leemings were really tops and I have no complaints at all. I really like their on-line returns policy, which I didn't have to use, but it gave me confidence to buy knowing that if something was not right I could send it back, no questions asked.

I remember a time when these guys were definitely "middle of the pack" - i.e. definitely not your first choice, but they seem to have really lifted their game this year and I just want them to know that it's noticed and appreciated.

    Well done!

Never had a problem with Noel Leeming Hastings, bought a pair of Plantronics D60 RIG headphones from them which failed, took them back and the guy was kind and definitely knew his stuff about headphones and got a replacement pair of a different brand (Logitech G230) that day.
