    Do not buy from Dork Smuth. Weeks ago I ordered a Samsung watch and paid for it and it has never been delivered. I have tried to get in touch with customer support and they got back to me once and didn’t give me an outcome. I have seen other posts on here and will be taking this further tomorrow to try and get my money back. This company should not be allowed to exist. I am incredibly angry and want my money back.

    I ordered a Kogan Mesh (3 piece) for my new broadband connection. 7 bed house so most areas got no wifi. It came in 6 days which included a weekend which was great. Works amazing and was super cheap compared to what you can get in NZ! Great product, the box was a little wet but there’s been some really bad weather and it still works fine. Def recommend

    First off, do not buy off this company. Your package will take more than a few weeks to arrive and when it does it might not even be what you ordered.

    With my order, I purchased an iphone 8. After 3 weeks of not receiving my item, I got suspicious as within the first 3 days it said that It was in Auckland with PBT (shit choice of courier). I rang PBT and they said that they never received it and to contact the supplier. I go to contact the supplier but am surprised to find that they don't have a customer service help line or email. And no way of contacting them at all since I purchased on a guest account. I waited another week without it arriving before tweeting at their CEO (Ruslan Kogan) who owns Kogan.com which is what dick smith is now owned under. They suddenly within 5 hours wanted to help me. Shocking that it took me to bash their company on twitter for them to even care about a customer. They sent me this link here bit.ly/30Qmp85. Which is for their Kogan support team. This will work with dick smith as well as dick smith are owned by them. A day after I get a messaged saying that they will contact their courier company to find my package and get it sent back to their warehouse before I get my refund. I demand that I shouldn't have to wait for their courier to get a refund as that is their issue now. Another 3 days later and multiple emails hassling them, they finally have agreed to refund me. Saying it will take 3-5 business days. This was 1 hour ago so I will have to wait and see if this time frame is actually correct.

    I recently bought a steam cleaner from Dick Smith. It arrived promptly, that's the only good thing I can say. The steam cleaner worked fine for a while but now is malfunctioning and to this extend now totally useless for me. I made several attempts to contact Dick Smith's customer service but to no avail. You can only contact them online and you are given a list with possible problems and solutions which doesn't help at all. You can type a question or problem into a box and enter. I have done this several times. No response from Dick Smith!

    SHITTEST COMPANY EVER! I bought a google home mini (refurbished) as it was 10 dollars cheaper then other places thinking that I would work. Boy I was wrong. The product gave me absolutely no response and the serial number was scratched out. I contacted the "help desk" who werent very much help; responding in 3 days and sending me a new one that is the exact same and faulty. they also sent me 2 vouchers which cherished my unhappy spirits but found out to extreme dissapointment that they didnt BLOODY WORK EITHER! (and one of them was for wine :(() I have now contacted them again and am awaiting a reply which is bound to take ages. Dick smith truly lives up to there name and are just a bunch of DICKS. If you are reading this be warned and do not buy from the shit bastards who just want your money. They are FRAUDS

    Customer service is extremely slow and inept. I wanted to cancel an order. took 2 days for them to reply to my request, then the item shipped 1 day later despite their "attempts" to cancel the order. 2 days to reply. 3 days to ship. Now I'm receiving an item I tried to cancel. Pathetic

    Customer care is excellent, my enquiries are responded to promptly by kind people, not automated machines which some reviewers have said. Delivery only took 8 Working days for me which surprised me. When my order arrived it was in perfect condition(with a few dents and scratches) other than that the phone was excellent. However I will not shop online again with Dick Smith as I may not be so lucky next time.

    After reading the previous reviews I was low key panicking as I had just ordered a $700 phone but although the phone took 3 weeks to arrive I was very pleased with the reaukts. I am very happy with my phone and it works amazingly exceeding my expectations by far.

    I read the reviews here and was very sceptical about Dick Smith but the phone I wanted was $100 cheaper here than anywhere else. My phone came in 4 days after I brought it in perfect condition. I was very pleased with how the whole process went about. Would definitely buy from them again.

    Do not buy from dick smith. I made the mistake of purchasing an item from them. The item did arrive and was not as advertised, after weeks of back and forward emails. they finally provided a return address and then said they would provide a refund . Another Three weeks went by and still no refund. Ended up having to contact the credit card company to get a refund

    I'm now on day 47 with no product delivered. The order stated that it would be dispatched with in 1-2 days. A few days AFTER 1-2 weeks, i get an apology email saying it would be delayed a further two weeks.

    This has occurred three times. Dick Smiths send you $20 AUD e-vouchers that CAN'T be used together, and only on orders over $50 AUD (so i have three useless vouchers - i would rather the interest they are generating from the real money i paid them).

    In what world would i ever purchase another product from this outfit that boast worse drop shipping times than a kid in his pajamas using Ali express. What an absolute joke of a company - let's see it go bankrupt once again.

    Well, I bought a brand new S10, was nearly $300 cheaper than original price. After buying I read the reviews and got very paranoid. Thought I lost nearly $1200. Shipping Took about 6 Days to NZ and about 7 days to arrive to my house. So a Total of 13 days for shipping. WHICH WAS VERY SCARY. but evetually I recieved my item. happiest fucking day ever. Been using my S10 for about 2 months now, and no problems yet. Phone also came with a case and a different country charager. I wouldve prefered the orginal charger made ofr NZ plugs. But all went good and no problems

    Created an account just to find someway to warn others. My experience exactly the same as those below. Zero stars.
    I have to say don’t shop here after the horrendous service. Bought an iPhone for my Mum which was faulty from arrival. Took about 6 weeks and the most convoluted email request trail to get an eventual refund. Just warning other NZers there are better local, NZ based suppliers. Main issues:
    Phone took over a week to arrive (the fact they are coming from Australia hidden in website t&c’s).
    No phone number to call.
    Return process involved sending photos of battery health, warnings if their wasn’t a problem there would be no refund, photos required to prove phone removed from find my phone. More photos then required of phone back and front before a courier would be sent. Courier pick up took over a week.
    Delivered it back to return centre myself. Waited a week and after following up told phone couldn’t be located. My elderly mother went back to return centre, phone still these waiting for technician to pick it up. After the visit refund came pretty quickly but all up about 6 weeks, 20 emails and two physical visits to their drop off centre.

    NO STARS! DO NOT USE DICK SMITH aka KOGAN! Appalling service and cheap, crap goods which they evade their consumer responsibilities on and just send endless emails skirting the issue. AVOID AND SAVE YOURSELF $$$$ AND HEADACHES! I would never had ordered my phone from them if I'd read PriceSpy first. Countless negative reviews reflect exactly what I am experiencing right now. Please, please take your money elsewhere!

    Avoid this dodgy internet-only version of Dick Smith at all costs. I asked what model of a particular phone they were selling and they came back telling me that the brand was the actual model.

    I informed them that they were incorrect, and there were multiple models so which one would I receive. Their response: "Our product specialists have advised they are unable to confirm the model number you will receive as the stock is a mix."

    In other words, you may get the nastiest model of a phone that matches, and they don't give a damn about the customer. Add to this extortionate shipping charges, slow helpdesk support and no easy way to return faulty items. And they have the nerve to say "don't pay XXX elsewhere", when they can't even tell you what you'll receive! Avoid Dick Smith at all costs.

    I bought a Fitbit with NFC from them, but was sent one without. After countless automated emails they said they'd take it back, but only offer a 6-month credit which I certainly don't want. Don't buy from DS if you think there is any chance of a dispute. There is nobody to call or email - their customer service is entirely missing.

    I bought a refurbished iPhone 7 (AB grade) from DSE. It took about 10 days to arrive from Australia, which wasn't super-fast, but within my patience level. The phone, even if they said AB grade (possibly with scratches and marks), looked almost new (very minimal scratch at a corner, easily invisible once inside a case) and the battery is 90% of design capacity. I'm very happy with the purchase. I can see some complaints about the service and support, and I hope I don't need to contact the service!

    Had I looked at these reviews before ordering I may not have ordered at all, but I am glad that I did. I ordered a Bose Comfort set of headphones and saved myself over a $100 minimum in the process, compared to any alternative sources.
    The ordering and tracking was flawless throughout. Meanwhile the headphones are as good as all the reviews promised.
    I am very happy.
    So why only 4 stars and not 5?
    I live in an area where I am happy to have packages left in the mail box at the end of the drive. Not every one is so fortunate. I would happily pay the additional cost to have to sign for the package. Why not give customers the option? So if you are in any doubt that your package may walk before you get to it then you will probably prefer to shop elsewhere.

    Dicksmith is a front for an Australian company named Kogan, I should've done some research before purchasing a phone from them in a rush. They are slow to reply to emails and use a very dodgy & the slowest mail carrier ever, Omniparcel (no contact number listed). My $700 phone came in a box inside vinyl package with no bubble wrap or any protection. Lord knows what bumps and grinds my phone's been subjected to on its way. By the way, the $19 shipping they charged me took 10 days AND my parcel was just left tossed into a letterbox on a busy street?!? It could've been easily snatched??! There was no marked value on the package so I didn't have to pay GST, which I guess is good (for me lol) but bit shady for a big company. Would not recommend. I pray that nothing goes wrong with my phone, as I can only imagine trying to get through to their customer services.

    Waste of your time & money to purchase from Dicksmith, If you read this do not purchase from www.dicksmith.co.nz . Customer service is appalling and they will avoid your requests for a refund, regardless of the fact they failed to meet the shipping estimations they set, which are already incredibly lenient, stating 5-10 business days. I purchased an $879 blue pixel 2 phone alongside having to pay $11 for shipping on the 28th February. I only recieved it today, 19th March, thats 20 days after purchase, and they only had to ship from Australia to a non rural address in Wellington. The package was dumped in my letter box, they hadn't knocked on my door or asked for signature. Yet they stated on there website they had delivered the phone a day earlier on the 18th March and had recieved a signature and were authorised to leave. The $879 phone came wrapped in a plastic shipping container littered with holes and smalls cut all over and had no bubble wrap inside to protect the item. Dicksmith along with the postage and shipping providers they use all of 1 star ratings and similar poor reviews like mine. Don't make the mistake I did and purchase anything from them. They don't deserve your money and don't even offer competitive prices or free shipping, at the same time I purchased my phone I also purchased a phone case for it from the uk. I did not pay for fast shipping for the phone case yet I recieved the phone case on the 8th March. That is 11 days quicker than my phone arrived and 14 234 kilometers travelled by that the uk parcel has travel to arrive, yet it will still arrive faster than the slack at dicksmith.

    Stay away from dick smith (kogan)

    Would give 0 stars if I could!

    - Dick Smith or Kogan do not have a contact phone number if you want to talk to someone about your order

    - They take days to reply to queries on email and even then.... they don't answer your concerns - they just reply with generic nonsense which can be found on their website

    - They use the slowest courier partners in the world (Omniparcel) who.... surprise surprise have no contact details

    - No option to upgrade the courier service for guaranteed delivery

    Seriously.... find a business who actually pride themselves in customer service and one who can guarantee delivery!

    Will never buy anything from this pathetic attempt at resurrecting what used to be a household name.

    Word of mouth goes a long way.

    Absolutely pathetic customer service. The Delivery times are so unrealistic - in today's world which e-commerce business takes 20 days to deliver a product once it has been dispatched. During those 20 days there is NO clarity on where and what the parcel is doing.

    DONT ever buy from them.

    Dick Smith is the worst site I've ever ordered from. I've had better experience refunding through non-english speakers than their absolutely god awful customer service.

    For context; I'm a constant online shopper. I've ordered hundreds of things online. I always aim to be frugal and if I have a problem with an item I return it.

    Firstly - they completely disregard Consumers Guarantees Act, they don't care what you ordered, what your issue is, whatever. If you item is broken, faulty or it doesn't fit it's intended purpose; you can't return it. I've tried.

    Back and forward in emails over 5 times and they've pretty much told my item isn't under their "change of mind" policy they keep bringing up.

    I used to like Dick Smith when they weren't a fully online business (A few years back). I assume them going 100% online has changed their practices drastically. I too believed Dick Smith was a trustworthy company, but absolutely not anymore.

    PLEASE Avoid this site at all costs. I will never be doing business with them again.

    1 star is probably too much.
    Ordered a laptop from them which too about 2 weeks to arrive. Laptop was sub quality and didn't work correctly. Tried to contact them about a replacement/refund and have been stuck in endless loop of waiting for a reply from my emails (each time you email them back it pushes you down the customer service queue).
    Do not be tricked into ordering stuff from these guys as you will not receive and real support from them if something goes wrong

    I recommend nobody use Dick Smith. Firstly they have this misleading delivery icon that says 1-2 day business days. Then you look closely at it, you realise they say they will 'dispatch' the item in 1-2 days and the actual delivery they claim would be about 4days after the dispatch to Auckland. It actually took over two weeks for the item to arrive. There is no phone number you can call to follow up, cant imagine if there is something wrong with the product and you need a replacement.... If I wanted to wait over two weeks for stuff I would rather buy from eBay or Amazon for less

    Ordered Anker PowerBank and can't fault price or delivery. I placed order Friday, dispatched Monday night from Victoria, cleared customers in NZ Wednesday, delivered to South Island town midday Friday. So 7 days total and tracking showed every step on the way.

    I'm not sure about other people's experience, but mine was really good! I ordered some Apple AirPods 6 days ago, and they were delivered today! Perfect condition, not damage to the box at all, and they work perfectly fine. My online experience was really smooth as well, as I had signed up to receive an email when the AirPods were back in stock, and it happened fast!

    Sorry to those who have had bad experiences with this company, but mine shipped from Australia to New Zealand really fast, and got delivered earlier than they had said too as I'm in the South Island. So nothing but a good review for this company :)

    Never! Ever! buy anything from DICKSMITH. This is not the dicksmith what you remember. I order S8 6th Aug and I still not get it. What they say is they have miss my parcel ^^ and they will do the replacement. But it seems they havent' dispatch yet.Just remember it will take at least 1 month to get your product. I really regret that I didnt see the reviews for dicksmith...

    Do not under any circumstances purchase anything from DSE.co.nz.

    They make great noises on their site about honoring the consumer guarantees act, but in reality their non existent customer service will do their best to stymie your every move when it comes to making a claim.

    They will make you jump through hoops to prove a fault is actually a manufacturers fault and not customer inflicted, and then finally on acknowledging the fault will cease email communication (or at least severely delay their responses).

    This business should be avoided at all costs.

    I think I just had one of the worst purchase experience with Dick Smith New Zealand. Or should I call them Kogan Australia? Here's what you should be aware of before purchasing anything from this shady garage business:
    - Dick Smith doesn't exist in New Zealand any longer. Don't be fooled by the dicksmith.co.nz domain name like I was. In reality this company is called Kogan and is an AU online consumer electronics retailer who purchased Dick Smith's intellectual property.
    - Expect longer than promised shipping times since some of the items you are going to order will arrive from abroad (quite possibly from China but good luck finding that out).
    - Don't be surprised if you pay higher price than you could have paid for the same exact product purchased from another grey market competitor
    - Be prepared for customer service with no availability via phone, only by email
    - Expect up to a week delay between your email complaints and their replies
    - Be aware that they have "no refund policy" for some of their products
    I would hardly suggest against purchasing anything from this company. You might be lucky and receive a product with no problem in it's life cycle but if that's not the case, you'll experience more trouble than you have ever imagined. I learned my lesson the hard way, now it's your turn. Don't be your enemy, listen to the good advice instead. ;)

    I ordered a phone from them for my friend, took them a week to email me and tell me they didn't have it and it wouldn't be shipped for another week, in that time they lowered the price as well. I told them to cancel it then as we needed it quick and so we bought one in store. They then purposefully waited long enough to ship it before they emailed me back so that they could pull a "too late we've sent it and it isn't covered by NZ CGA" on me. Dishonest, sneaky, I would go without a phone instead of ordering from these guys.

    Don't buy from Dick Smith.
    They are an Australian based company (Kogan) trading under the Dick Smith name. Their customer support is non-existant. There is no phone number you can call and, like previous reviews have stated, they do not respond to emails despite raising a support ticket.
    Because they are based in Australia and ship to NZ you are not covered by NZ consumer laws. So if something goes wrong or your product develops a fault you effectively have no recourse.
    They may be slightly cheaper than local retailers but you will get next to zero support. It's not worth the $5 or $10 dollars you might save. Just look at all the problems people have had below.

    Either they are very popular or short on staffs.

    Feel cheated as they just lowered the price of item i bought and I am still waiting for shipping.

The cannot be reached by phone, they do not return the call although they have a box function for this, they don not reply to emails... A rubbish company! My son's birthday present (a monitor) arrived with cracks and dead pixels. We sent it back and have been waiting FOR 3 WEEKS NOW and still no replacement!

    I can't believe how slow online order delivery is to New Zealand. I suspect my item is on its way from Australia. Two weeks later and I still haven't received a Chromecast. Such a pain as they used to be really good before the new owners took over.

    Online orders will get cancelled for no valid reason, they take your money, tell you the order is cancelled for security reasons and then refund it 3-5 days later. My refund took 8 working days.
    I will never buy on line with them again.Awfull
