Great soundcard. Easy install. Port for front PC headphone jack. Bought headphones to life after suffering cruddy onboard audio.
Built in amplifier works well. Not huge amounts of power, but a huge improvemnt will be noticed.
Software supplied has an excellent and easy to use equaliser! Set it to "soft rock" and treat your ears.

With this sound card, I get an amazing gaming experience! With the right setup, you can get the standard 2.0 stereo headphones sound as 5.1. The disadvantage is that the sound card does not give out the sound as fast as the integrated sound card into the motherboard. Maybe just me who have this problem, do not know.

Abrupt! Using this in an HTPC and running sound via optical. Good sound quality at a very low price.

    Brutally affordable.

As many others mentioned, so I did not think it needed to upgrade from the motherboard's built-in, but a big difference. I have no need for ultra mega SEK 1000 sound card, just wanted better sound, and to have higher volume on my headphones. This can be in the settings select 64 ohms of impedance, and WOW

Asus have just Beta Drivers for Windows 8.1 but they work great so far.

I always thought that the "external" sound card is something ancient and judgment that comes with internal motherboard is all you need but I came across recessions at different xonar sound card and read that even judgment newest motherboards have a right bad sound card itself. even read further that even this sound card, which is basically the cheapest would be better than the sound card in the new MSI Z87-g43 motherboard.

Bought this on Amazon for 239kr and yes, it really is a big difference! Also on a couple of old logitech stereo speakers to the computer. and in my headphones, it is an amazing difference!

really worth it if you like, I think that sounds can make such an incredible difference in movies or music. Or I hear indistinct. voices become clearer which helps me to hear people talk in movies.

The only negative is that I regret as hell that I did not directly invested in a more expensive sound card. Then there's swelling not the best looking, perhaps, but it is small so it is barely visible :)

Very good card, bought rather than built Realtek into the motherboard, the difference is huge. Only minus is that I do not like the software in particular.

Troubled good cards but below wrote, it can be difficult to install drivers. Follow the instructions on http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Xonar_EEPROM_Failure how it works. Boot from the CD and follow the instructions.

Simple installation and a great and inexpensive upgrade from real tech who sat on the motherboard before. With a good pair of headphones will sound fantastic. Recommend the card to those who primarily use headphones eg Audio Technica ATH-M50S.

    Works great for me.

Be on the lookout for a sound card with "Dolby Headphone" and amplifiers for headsets. This sound card live up to expectations for it and are really affordable.

Must warn that there is a risk that the card is defective. For unknown reasons amortized over the product's EEPROM and thus can not drivers detect the card. Incredibly frustrating, but there is a solution for this, so I'll leave a link for how to fix it. http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Xonar_EEPROM_Failure

Note that this defect applies in the whole "Xonar" series. Although it is unusual, it feels like it would be a good idea to make people attentive o this.

Otherwise, I have nothing to complain about, Clear upgrade from moderkortes soundcard! Cheap and good.

    Hi

    Cheap and good.

Had VIA VT1818 8-Channel High Definition Audio as integrated on the motherboard. And I'm running on 2.1 phillips speakers and Sony MDR-XB500.

First, I noticed no difference after connecting the DG and downloaded the driver from their website.

Then I started experimenting different features, running Dolby Headphone (DH-2) + Virtual speaker 7.1 and Pro Gaming Fashion impediance. Then things started to happen, everything became much clearer, fyfan what a difference :)

Then I started EQA also, which I did well with the last integrated sound card (because it was the worst, completely random bands of EQ, but iTunes had good EQ, but only for iTunes.) Now I can get the same EQ as I had previously on iTunes, but in EVERYTHING :)

    Hz vs DB

    30 +10
    60 +7-8
    120 -1
    250 -1
    500 +7-8
    1k +11
    2k +7-8
    4k +11
    8k +7-8
    16k +11

    Highly recommended, buy!

I do not have much to complain about, installation and "help."-Prgrammen huh somewhat annoying.

But it's a slightly clearer sound than from the usual motherboard.

Got tired of the built-in sound card with tinny sound and bought it here. Much better in the game, especially heard details very clearly. Sounds like you have not previously heard clearly heard now crystal clear, it was very "fuller" sound. 3d sound also works satisfactorily with headphones. Feel that it sounds better at music and film too.

Maybe not the best sound card if you compare it with a little more expensive relatives / soundblaster card that is slightly further notch better, but much better than the built and very affordable.
