Lowa stands for Lorence Wagner, brother of Hans Wagner who formed HanWag. The mark originates in Germany and has been around since the 1920s.

Skon is lined which makes it more suitable for colder climates, suitable for the Swedish mountains. I have tried them from May to August and never froze or been wet in them. Since it is lined, it is beautiful from day one. I usually have st 45 but in these I have 46.5 to have plenty of room for double socks and prevent the tears from taking in when walking downhill. If I were to walk in warmer climate, 25+ I would probably consider another shoe as this could get too hot.

What made me stuck for them was essentially two features. The first allows you to lock the lining on the fourth loop from the bottom and keep it tight or loose to then lace or loose on the upper part, which suits one's best. The second is that you can lock your tongue in a very good set so that it does not move down or sideways.

After about 400 km they still feel new and I long for the next trip.
