Have had it now for over 1 year. Driver 5.2.4 system with Harman Kardon speakers (only 83 db sensitivity 8 ohms). I was worried that the power would not suffice for all 9 speakers and that I needed an extra amplifier. All doubts are like blown away - the fact is that I never raise above 65-70 when it gets too high (small room).

Before that I had the Harman Kardon AVR 370 (5.2.2 with Dolby Pro Logic IIz) which had Dolby Volume and Dolby Calibration. Marantz: a chorus with Audyssey and Dynamic Volume instead which I think is not as good as Dolby Volume. But if you drive with the Audyssey App (costs $ 20) and limit room correction to 200 Hz (base rate) it sounds almost as good as HK with Dolby Volume! :) So Marantzen gets 9/10 in audio rating, had it had Dolby Volume then it would get 10/10.

HDMI switching works great and Dolby Vision looks outstanding on my Sony TV. Incredibly good sound from the PC as well as the PS4n (upgrades to 5.2.4 using Dolby Surround Upmixer). A big plus is also Auro 3D: Youtube and stereo sources sound incredibly good with Auro 2D (upmixer) as well as 5.1 / 7.1 Bluray movies in Auro 3D (I drive with front and rear highs).

All in all, very satisfied! :)

Bought this amplifier in search of a good solution for both Home Theater and with several Zones to be able to listen to Spotify throughout the house. Went from a Yamaha RX-775, and man god what a difference. The surround sound is magical after Audyssey calibration and if you sit on the sweet spot on the couch, the sound is so damn dynamic and distinct from each individual channel. For example, when the ship in Star Trek goes into Warp mode and is left in the remnants of intergalactic star dust - completely magical. The center from B&W now provides a clear dialogue and punch in the voices that Yamahan was not near.

The sound in Spotify is crystal clear and has lifted my B&W 683 S2 to new heights.

Something negative then? The Marantz app is not the most stable and fast, and there is a bit of usync between Main Zone and Zone 2 when playing Spotify.

It should be added that I have gone from a Rotel power stage that pushed the front of this AV receiver that drives everything and does it with such damn perfection.

    Strong buy on this one!

Bells! . A big lift from my previous yamaha. More pleasant sound, suddenly became much more fun to pull up the volume when watching movies, and it works canon for music too
