Scary easy to set up if you follow the instructions. No dropouts playing Netflix or YouTube. It also solved my issue with my Panasonic tv's bult in Netflix constantly defaulting to 5.1, despite me constantly affirming stereo. (I run old school analog stereo with a dedicated stero dac)

    Highly recommend.

Does not support 5.1 sound. Don't understand the point

Very good, 1080p, flows smoothly. Very easy to install. I should have bought it a long time ago.

Works clockwise. Installed in 5 minutes. No problems with stability or Wifi connection. Perfect to put on an older TV and make it a little smarter.

Have had this product for a while now and am very disappointed with it. Very often it is not even possible to connect to it and when it goes away we get very low resolution fixed than we have run 250mbps-500mbps network.

Has worked flawlessly in my home so far. Good integration also with Google Assistant and Google Home.

My parents, on the other hand, have had a lot of connectivity issues between the phone and Chromecast (2nd generation), but they also have extremely unstable internet at home so I would probably blame the problems on it rather than on the product. Worth noting though. If you know you have unstable Internet, a dedicated media box with your own remote control (Android TV or Apple TV for example) may be more appropriate. If you are unsure, you can buy a Chromecast anyway and try it out, and if your internet doesn't work well, you can give it to someone you like. Who would totally appreciate getting a Chromecast!

Feels slightly more stable than previous version, ffa a little faster.

After a while got problems with random restarts. After about 6 and several updates I realized that it was probably HW error on mine. Advertised and got it exchanged. The new version is very good so far. Could it have been HW on these in the beginning, see more people mentioning the reboot here. Seems to be resolved in the new version of this model anyway.

Works great with a Google Home Mini, easy to cast from PC or use the built-in apps.

Is an incredibly flexible product! Has struggled a few times, but for 400 bucks there is absolutely nothing to complain about 👍
    Have 3 at home.
So for the price, it clearly gets ***** stars.

We have two. One is at home and one in the overnight apartment. Both were easy to configure, and have since worked impeccably. Then I still connect it in the overnight apartment via a Huawei MiFi. Highly recommend this very affordable product.

Owns two, one for my TV and one for my son's projector. Both work as they should.

Have previously had older generations of chromecast, and they always work without problems. This one, however, has the ability to hang on time and time. In addition, it automatically lowers the volume if you have it at max (prefer to control level via home cinema receiver).

Also experience that this generation is more difficult to keep stable in wi-fi compared to previous versions.

Unfortunately, we have to restart it at least once a week for it to work.
It often does its job, but stability is, in fact, shit.
At least on the one we have.
    Disappointed!

Love gadgets that "just work" without hassle. Easy to install, fast, good. Have nothing negative to say.

Very unstable. Often difficult to start a "cast", may try lots of times. The image often freezes and must be buffered. Still have broadband via fiber, 100 Mb / s. Asked an Apple TV next door to see if there was any problem with wi-fi in that part of the house but it works without a problem.

Frugan got one to bedroom two in Christmas gift.
It has worked fine with no problems from scratch.
Installation was simple when following the instructions.
It is easy to cast on TV or the telephone.
    Recommended to 100%

Bought a chromecast after testing one at work. The setting became a bit complicated. Not as easy as I thought but afterwards it got pretty good. Has been running daily for 1 month & works very well. Wonderful product recommended

Just like the 2a generation, but a little faster at the start of playback.
