SEK 5400 for a mobile with just over 720p resolution, 1820mAh and 2gb frame ?????? how the hell did they think? Very poor screen to body ratio as well. The camera is perfectly ok, but it is not worth 5000 SEK. There are many better options for under 3500 that would beat this easily in both performance and quality.

Replaced my old iPhone 6S with a used iPhone 8 (in new condition) for SEK 2,990.
Uses it most for communication such as sms / chat as well as some banking and surfing.
Very pleased with the phone considering the price.

    Update 2:

I increase the grade due to:

    1. With Safari 13.1 in Mojave, tabs finally work. I can only assume that Apple actually read the logs and fixed the problem.

    2. A reset of the network settings seems to have solved the random WiFi problems. Still iOS wrong, but obviously affordable.

The physical design continues to be a major annoyance.

    ---

    Update:
Now I have had the phone for three months and it has not gotten any better:

    - WiFi stops working once a day. It ends up working as if it shows that it is connected to the right network, but no apps manage to retrieve any data at all. All other devices on the same wireless network work flawlessly, including older iPhone models. Switching to another physical router does not solve the problem. The only thing that helps is to turn the WiFi off and on again on the phone (ios 13.3.1) which puts the spot where the probem is located. We don't even have to mention all the thousands of people with the same problem (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8090493?page=2).

    - Safari continues to systematically not sync tabs to Mojave (some versions) despite Apple's promise that it will work. After talking to the support and demonstrating that the iPhone 8 and macOS Catalina sync with each other in their own isolated snowflake world, but not with Mojave or iPhone 5 (10.3), they have collected logs. Who knows when the solution will come? In 3, 6, 12 months? ... We also don't have to pretend that ios 13 would have trouble being backwards compatible with reading unencrypted tabs from ios 10 or macOS Mojave, so there's absolutely no excuse why I don't see the tabs from these devices on iphone 8. Tab sync is a joke, and apple is not keeping what they promised at all. It just doesn't work.

    - It has also been good with strul to get automatic itunes Wifi backup to work with the phone. Fortunately, we found a way around the problem of the phone never starting to sync to itunes automatically (either on macOS or on Windows).

    - Very convenient to not be able to use the included headphones in the laptop - not even if it were a mac. Remember to bring two pairs of headphones! Ridiculous.

    - Apps that I bought and backed up obviously cannot be transferred to the phone for a few years back, and since they have been removed from the app store, I no longer have them. May be that the iphone 8 can't run 32-bit apps at all but it's not immediately obvious to me at this time. It is, for example, not as if the intel processors running macOS Catalina can't run 32-bit apps - it's just the OS that doesn't want to.

The form factor, the hollowness and the lack of headphone jack continue to be reasons why I unconsciously feel like I am striving for iphone 5 instead of lying next to each other.

    ---

Worthless without icloud: Call the support and ask where the icloud backup has taken the road. They have no idea and no tools to find out what happened. No event log. Nothing. This means that I cannot trust icloud, which makes the phone quite useless.

Also tried to download bankid without success. Appstore sits and rolls thumbs and spins endlessly. Not to mention the disgusting ads they have placed at the top of the search results on the appstore.

Please do not send with a headphone adapter. Minus.

It is bad in the hand, so does it, and as it seems, some trainee at apple has chosen to coat the sides with teflon so that it will be as slippery as possible. Everything else on the phone should of course be made of glass so that you take it as quickly as possible. Idiocy.

Iphone 8 is by far the worst experience I've had of iphone so far. Give me iphone 5.

Almost as bad as price hunt, which in the absence of design ability throws away everything you have written.

Been completely satisfied with the phone right from the start when it came out (upgraded from iPhone 6). The latest models of iPhone have been too big and / or expensive so continue on my 8 until further notice. If it is missing something, it would be better battery life.

Battery life is not so good even when the phone is new and the battery is not worn at all. Imagine it becomes unbearable when the battery capacity goes down over time. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

I have had smart phones from the beginning such as Nokia 9000, HTC etc.
Right now I have an iPhone 6S and an iPhone 8. I have to say that the iPhone 8 works really well and smoothly after 2 years and everything works. 6S is starting to get really tough. I really use my mobile for everything from streaming, movie via HDMI adapter, smart connection at home & in the car.

I agree that there are many phones with a much better spec but the iPhone is well balanced. However, I must say that right now I am looking for an update to my 6S and I have started looking at brands other than Apple as I think many others provide better value per penny.

Quite ok phone that is now beginning to come over the years.
But when you read the reviews here you start to wonder.

But you. Yes You where probably never owned an iPhone.
Comparing specs with ex Android is not only stupid. It's really really stupid. "Only 2GB RAM". Only 1820mAh battery is abysmal "..

Already there, I know that you do not own or own an iPhone. Iphone and Apple are NOT the best there is. But the fact is that Apple's iOS is less demanding than Android. It should be noticed if you have EVER owned an iPhone. It can even be one that can zero in on technology ...

Now back to an actual review.

+ If you just run the LCD, Apple (LG) makes the better screens in the industry. But 2019, LCD is clearly nowhere to be found.

+ Top-notch touch (here Apple usually succeeds better than some others)

+ Updates. Nothing unique to this particular model but the interest club notes that you can have an iPhone for 5-6 years before the updates stop coming. Which Android can brag about it?

+ Absolutely ok camera but nothing against what is 2019 ready.

    - Too expensive (Apple is ALWAYS too expensive). Even with updates that allow you to have your phone longer, it becomes too expensive.

    - Prefer more DPI on the screen like the ex Plus models which are much sharper than these. Then it doesn't matter if Apple calls it Retina Display etc. It's a low-resolution screen, unfortunately.

    - Not good looking (2019) with so much unused surface at the front. Now it is the display on the entire front that applies. Except for the front camera.

Is enforced as a job phone. I can't understand how someone willingly wants an iPhone!
Sure, the building quality (feeling) is very high. Good response in the screen and the buttons, besides the home button which is really bad in this. 6S had the feeling in the button when you pressed it! That since the 8th, in addition to the black frame instead of silver, looks exactly like the 6S I had to have before (the only exception is the lack of 3.5mm headphone output and that the camera moved slightly so that the former bag becomes unusable) makes you one wondering what happened over two generations ... Sure some under the shell, but still.
But the software is still horrible! I can't bear to go into the details either, but like the iPhone, or you don't. I belong to the latter. Had Hacker's Keyboard been on the IOS, I could definitely have raised the score, certainly two stars. But the keyboards that exist are all horrible!

-For big, uncomfortable to have in pockets and difficult to navigate on large screen
-Greatly despite the case, lightly down or away
    - Must buy an adapter to have 3.5mm headphones
+ Fast and easy to use
+ Good with touchID (had iPhone 5s before and there it rarely worked)
+ Battery life, can handle more than 1 day for me

I am not satisfied, had my old 5's funk had I kept it. Now I leave the phone at home more and more ..

I like the Iphone, a lot because I am lazy and do not have the energy to keep on tweaking and fixing the phone. And you don't need that with the Iphone.

+ Easy and easy to get started with and to use.
    + Fast as phase.
    + Simple and intuitive interface.
    + Good camera.

    - The battery life feels a little clumsy.
    - The glossy surface makes it slip off all surfaces with the slightest slope if you have not bought a case for it.
    - The price.

In short, the best phone I had. But - putting out so much money on a phone that lasts for a couple of years, it is doubtful.

I have so far mixed a lot with regard to which mobile phones I have had. Everything possible from Nokia in the past, to Nokia with Windows, Sony, HTC, Samsung etc, and iPhone. Early Android was really boring, current Android feels completely okay, but I still like menus etc better in iOS. For my part, it has always felt more thoughtful, and usually others try to create something that feels similar (not because Apple is always the first with new ideas, but only that they, in my opinion, implement it better and still set the standard in terms of graphical interface) . Step safely on many toes there, but that's my opinion of it.

If you compare the iPhone 8 and 7, then I know that many were a little hesitant about how much that would actually be better, would it be worth a new phone? I managed to slash my 7, so there wasn't so much choice. Something that I did not expect was that the iPhone 8 has significantly much better reception than the 7th which, quite frankly, had quite a poor reception. I often find myself in an area with poorer reception, where the 7th was totally useless - which I do not notice at all with the 8th.

Otherwise, it is fast and does most of the work. Has no problem with battery time, but on the other hand it is charged wirelessly when I drive a car etc, so it doesn't really get that fair.

Regarding that with price ... The brief summary is that I think that in principle all sensible phones are too expensive today. A phone has a very short lifetime, and newer phones generally keep very bad. But if you can get one as a job phone - then I choose one every day of the week.

Had 5s and 6s before. My 6s I bought used and it had all sorts of problems: poor battery life and shut down immediately you picked it up from the pocket when it was cold outside made it completely useless.

Decided to buy a brand new iphone 8 now in december 2018 for 6700kr.

    Benefits to Iphone X:
    ~ 3000kr cheaper
Same battery life and about the same camera
    Slightly smaller size
    The home button remains

    A little bit else +++
+ No problems whatsoever with it.
    + Really good camera.
+ Pretty good battery life and it's about the same battery life of 8an as the iphone X (some tests show that 8an even has better). Because X has a larger battery but also a larger screen. Feels overwhelmed to be able to use the phone a full day without charging it. So I still have to top it off in the afternoon.
+ Unlocked lightning fast with touchid.
+ Wireless charging (same technology for both android and apple mobiles so basically all wireless chargers should work) and fast charging

    A little minus -
    - Tried the surf speed against an android mobile in the 2000kr class. Lost marginally on most pages. Can be anything else that haunts but for the price I had expected more for cheaper mobiles, but it really doesn't feel like it.
    - Disturb me a little on the sharp edges that are on the back between the glass and the frame.
    - It is not so much smaller than the iphone x / xs that it is of great importance. The width is what affects / noticeably most and iphone X is mainly higher. Was a little surprised when I put both phones against each other how little difference it is.

What's more to say. Do not miss the physical home button or headphone jack. It is very water-resistant and probably can be dipped in water without any problems, but the sealing adhesive around all parts releases with time so it is of course a little more risk of water damage after you have used it for a while. Since the back is glass, I recommend that you buy a shell.

    Conclusion:
If you are missing the home button and want a smaller model or may not want to pay 10k + for a mobile and which I dislike android then an upgrade to iphone 8a is a pretty good choice. I am very happy with the purchase myself. The battery life, speed and camera make it definitely worth the upgrade.
If neither money, home button or size is a problem then it is of course better to just buy the iphone Xs for 11,000 SEK (only 4,400 SEK more expensive than iphone 8a).

After 2 1/2 years, I thanked my iPhone 6S for faithful service when the battery was done. Apple did not disappoint me, iPhone 8 is a build of pure fun and can sound strange, clean beauty. The mobile now gives its backside of glass, slim design and the soft shapes a mobile that feels luxurious, even though it has been around for over a year.

Two things I really appreciated is that there is finally built-in wireless charging function, which has been missing the previous models. Likewise, the sound has received a proper update, which is also appreciated. Otherwise, the phone is fast and Apple's unique part where the operating system is tailor-made to the processor because, in my view, there is never any problem with programs or apps.

The home button's product or non-product is exciting. Its function that, as in previous models, "click" has to be gone and replaced with a vibration. The technology followed later on on future models.

    Positively:

    + Design
    + Built-in wireless charge
    + Significantly better sound
    + Affordable to newer models
    + water resistant
+ Finally, the memory of the low-rise model is raised to 64GB

    negative:

    - No headphone output
    - Apple should ship with wireless headphones instead of a pair of cordless phones and an adapter

The sum is a mobile well worth the money. If you have an iPhone 7, maybe a change may feel a bit tight, but if you have an older model, it's definitely worth exchanging.
I recommend visiting a retailer so you can test iPhone 8 because you will not be disappointed.

    Highly recommend this product!

What about a new Apple phone with the same design as the iPhone 7 precursor and the iPhone X next?

For me, the following details make me very happy with iPhone 8:
++ The glass makes the phone clean. It also makes it super comfortable to keep in use.
+ Camera with better slow-mo, Touch ID and wireless charging.

By the way, it is not noticeably better compared to the iPhone 7, which for me was already very good. Before that, I bought iPhone X, but I found out that the oblong display and Face ID did not suit me, so it was repurchased. I prefer to reach the whole screen with one hand and be able to unlock the phone without looking. Conclusion: iPhone 8 is highly recommended, despite old design.

Upgraded from an iphone 5s. Nice phone in every way. A little bigger and faster as well as a better camera, but nothing revolutionary which it does not have to be after all is well functioning. I knew before it missed aux, but still does not understand why the apple took it away, an unusual idea and in my eyes not innovative, just stupid and bad for the environment with more adapters.
If you prefer ios and want the latest technology, there is unfortunately no alternative with built-in aux, sorry for another good product.

Went from a 6s to this one. Did not think it would be as big a difference as it really is, light years faster, the camera is a cannon, the battery is sick enough much longer than my 6s but then it had a couple of hard years on my neck too.

Only sad is the look that is the same since 6th came, but why should you complain when you got too stupid to buy the X?

Selected this in front of the X due to the price and the home button!

Do not understand all hate that comes from fanboys of other brands. I switch between iOS and Android constantly. And both operations have their big pros and cons. iPhone as hardware also has its pros and cons. It is worse in some ways, and best on others. Like all other mobiles on the market.
Use the mobile phone that you are most pleased with and stop hating everyone else.

One thing that bothered me directly was how to solve the transition between the glass back / front and metal edges. There is a marked "list" between the two materials which I currently experience as disturbing. You could use the edges to scrape with. Not because you would like to do it but mostly to describe how it feels. This feels completely wrong, considering that the gadget costs 8 cardboard.
