Have had this router since the beginning of 2018 and am very pleased. We use them in a 200 sqm house where we previously had to use two routers to reach the whole house, which is extremely annoying. These routers together create a single network where newer devices can seamlessly switch between them without noticing anything at all.

There is also a very good app, where you can control most of what you need. (As a little more technical, I really appreciate it as there are a lot of settings). It is extremely user friendly.

Has hardly had any problem at all with performance or the like.

has had Deco M5 for about 2 years. it just works and works. We want about 180 square meters built in the 60's. concrete walls do not seem to be a problem. in the kid's room where most netflix goes, Youtube and TV it works perfectly well thought that the puck is not connected with cable but wireless. i have wifi absolutely in every room + driveway where i want wifi. we have about 25 things connected at the same time but never noticed any problem despite sometimes being streamed on 3 TVs at the same time. Uses a puck as a router.
a star less because I lack some settings such as VPN server, restricting guest network speed etc.
all in all very good mesh but would choose M9 if I traded today. it has extra ties between the pucks and so I would choose it.

With TP Links Deco M5 it was not possible to get coverage in the wireless network anywhere at home, the speed was not enough so bought big brother M9 instead. It got better but it loses speed between the pucks.

Easier systems to install you have to look for. Now I've tested it for a while on recommendation and I have to actually say that it lacks much of what one could wish for as the big brother M9 has. The coverage is such and has had to install more than 3 pucks.

Huge light layout and clean style. Anyone can do this, the installation went fast. Simple menus in the app, no complicated settings to go through. WPS and ethernet connections per box, but if you have everything wireless then there is no problem. You can also select "night mode", when the lamp should stop illuminating so as not to be disturbed in the bedroom, for example. Recommended!

Has had this system since November 2017 and initially it felt half-finished but a number of "obvious" functions that were missing. Since then it has matured and I have been very pleased with it since it gave me good coverage throughout the house (wooden house, about 150 sqm) and also on the plot. Had I written this review a month ago, it would undoubtedly have been a full pot, but unfortunately TP Link released an update about three weeks ago which was then withdrawn quickly. The update has more or less rendered the system unusable. Instead of sending out a new update that solves the problems, one has not done anything at all. This has nothing to do with Deco as a product, but I would imagine before I buy anything at all from TP Link in the future.

It should be added that those who buy the system today are releasing the wrong software, but one should keep in mind that they (TP-Link) will probably react as slowly next time somewhat stray.

Which lifted our old solution with a router and an extra access point! Faster to connect a device, faster speed and good handoff between nodes. The only drawback is that I did not find any indication of optimal location, and that there is no wall bracket.

Bought these for ~ 2300 SEK a few days ago. Have not yet experienced any problems with them, installed and updated them shortly after installation.

+ Easy installation via the app
+ Easy to update firmware via app
+ Enormously better coverage than my old Asus RT-N66U who sang on the last verse
+ Easy to lock IP addresses and set up port forwarding via the app
    + Stylish

    - No back haul network, but I knew that when I bought them and for that price it is difficult to demand
    - Can not be wall / ceiling mounted. It is a bit of a shame when the shape should suit it.

Ruggedly satisfied so far. Will return if they start to behave strangely.

Very simple installation and it has worked beyond expectation. Now we get the same high speed in all places in our two-storey villa. Which was my hope too.

The app that belongs to the system is very good and simple. And parental control is superb.

The only thing I miss is that none of the "pucks" have more than two ethernet ports, but that is really no giant problem.

Has now had my Deco M5 for over 3 months and it works perfectly in our single-storey house of 180 sqm. Covering the entire house without any problems. Especially like the possibility of being able to control the children's possibility of WiFi both in number of possible hours / day and set specific times. Cannon to also be able to set up a guest network. Are happy!

1 year of use in 160 sqm house, I am more than satisfied. Has not interrupted my wireless network. Also has full coverage in the garage (10 meters from the nearest node), where I get half the bandwidth. The app is also very easy to use

Extremely easy to get started with (max 10 min) using an app on the phone and finally I got coverage everywhere on the balcony. Pulling out a star because you have to restart the first access point (router) to get the latest security / virus definitions. 3 years of virus protection is included, quarantined infected units are put in place.
    Very satisfied.

    Update July 20, 2018:
After 1 year, they still work well. Some updates have made it even more stable.
    Overall, it worked really well.
The best part is now that parents can get some online support from home as long as the internet is not completely dead.
Good dashboard with statistics and live data usage, easy o see which gadget is drawing the most data for the moment.
They work as well as both router and clean accesspoit mode, can drive back-haul both wirelessly and with cable, few other manufacturers support this at all and if they do, we'll talk completely different money.
    Really affordable product.

    2017
After a few years of rolling wlan with my parents, I bought these and I'm cheerful.

They have a large house, 250 sqm spread on one and half floor but an extension.
When the old 3com monkey, who gave quite ok coverage in almost the entire house, died after 7 years of faithful service, I have tried to replace it with something new.
Both a Dlink DAP-1665 and an Asus EA-N66 were tested but none worked well, neither coverage nor stability.
Asus: one seemed decent but had the upper hand to hang around once a month.

Fought for a while to buy some Ubiquiti monkeys, but it went away in both money and complexity.
So now that this type of consumer solution came, I felt that it was possible to justify a purchase.

    Installation went smoothly.
Got to start by asking Telia to bridge the ADSL modem and that was no problem.
Two of the monkeys are corded and one goes wireless with the others.
Good coverage and full (if you want to call 17mbit down and 2 up full speed) throughout the house.

What I like a little less, why I do not give a full pot is that you have to create an account at TP-Link. But if you stand out with it, there's nothing negative to say.
All that remains is to see how it works over time.

Not at all satisfied, but you may get what you pay for. The app was very simple, therefore, I give it 3 stars instead of 1. Did not get a good coverage of 3 units in an apartment of 130kvm even though I tested different locations, and without significantly thick walls or anything else that interferes. And then 3 units will work up to 420 sqm according to TP-Link. And that was just for the coverage I invested in Mesh, but had to leave them back and look for someone who keeps what they promise.

Absolutely useless! It worked well for a while, but then they stop working occasionally. They for some reason sometimes close some ports on the rauter so I can not be out on the internet but I can still talk to friends.

    * Update 180507 *
Have been in touch with TP-Link support who did their best to help me. Despite this, I have not been able to create a stable network on an apartment of 140 square meters. Started with a 3-pack that would theoretically cover everything but had to expand so I had 5 units closed.

A few months later, I have not yet solved the problems of instability through any software update. I managed to solve it myself using decos in combination with each old WPA4220 power adapter. The only downside is that I can not use the mesh technology to get in earlier 150 mbit / s in the outer rooms, but only up to 20 mbit / s which is a limitation of the old power adapter adapters.

The product works well in small homes but nothing I recommend if you have greater demands on the network in terms of stability and low latency for games such as games.

    * Original Review *
Bought for single Decos in September 2017 to expand the network after I bought a 3-pack.

    + Easy installation
+ Best customer support for a long time
+ Easy app for family control
+ Very good coverage and speed

    - Only 2 Ethernet ports per Deco
    - Can not attach to wall or ceiling
    - Lets connect to the internet for 30-90 seconds a couple of times a day

Had some problems with instability but is being solved after contact with TP-link support in Sweden.

Very easy to install, went fast and easy to understand. I gave the network the same name and password as the old one and then please connect all the equipment again, it took care automatically.

Got some trouble after I had updated Deco to the newest software, then suddenly complained that one puck was too far away and did not get in touch, it worked the gun before the update. But after a little relocation, it was up and running again and has gone cannon since.

The app manages and controls is good, easy to see so that all devices are connected, etc. Also, easy to control the network and the surf to the devices that are connected.

The range of a puck is not super good (approximately 6-7 meters if the signal is to go through an outer wall, which is much smaller than my old router), so my hope that in this way, get better Wifi even in the garden think I'm still joking. But the coverage inside the house is much better, and streaming from Netflix and Cmore flows flawlessly, big difference to before, as the TV is so far away from incoming fiber and then the old router can come into our house. Quite happy with the change from my 4-5 year old TP-link router.

After 30 days of frustration, I will return tomorrow.

With about 1-3h intervals each day, the entire wifi network will lose internet connection.
Thought initially that there was a general problem with my ADSL lineup, but my wired gadgets never lost their connections when the wifi network dropped the internet.

    Contacted their support.
And they just guessed here and yours and brought it one pointless solution to the solution after another.

A few days ago I went back to my old network with wifi running on my router + an additional AP in the other end of the house.
NOT ONE WAY, WIFIT WAS STRATEGY BEFORE I CHANGE!

    **** Edit ****
6/2 I have been contacted by TP-Links SVENSKA support a few weeks ago! And they are of a different caliber than their colleagues in Taiwan!
They have been very willing and we have had a good contact several times to find a solution to my problems.
Today I have started testing their latest software and pepper, pepper, as long as it works!
Because of the nice support I get I have chosen o raise the score something, and if this test goes well, more stars will trill in :-).

    Edit **** ****
    11/2
6 days have passed since I got the latest software and not a single roar during this time!
Everything is flowing like it will be all the time!
TP-link will get rid of it!

Have been driving with Deco M5 for a few days and I'm impressed! The speed is significantly higher than with my old Airport Extreme AC router and the coverage is superb, has no blind spots anymore.

The installation went very smoothly and I had everything up in about 20 minutes.
I can easily see current usage on those different devices. I have not yet started experimenting with anti-virus, but it's up to now.

Since you should also address negative aspects, I can mention that you can not configure it anyway, but you are properly locked to the few choices you can make, but it is still enough for me.

I had the Asus RT-AC66U for about 4 years and was very pleased with it it got a bit bad lately, thought about upgrading to Asus Lyra cost 4000 on offer. It was bad this router, has an apartment of 60 sqm and it unplugged. Delete all day with it. Switched to Asus RT-AC88U, I got bad or sometimes no 5-GHz from it. Examined a bit and someone else had the same mistake. Tried everything firmware reset etc .. Then I had to say goodbye to Asus and try something new. Purchased TP-Link Deco M5 for 3000 from Power. Routes are very small and have good design. User Type USB-C power connector. It feels quality. Easy to set up with Norwegian app and user-friendly. I am happy with the router. Only minus: Can not be hung with a screw on the wall but should not pull it, it's so small that maybe there was not enough space.

It is the cheapest of this kind and it will notice after a while. The installation went fast except that the app crashed once after the installation.
Adding devices went fast and good until I discovered that there is no WPS so all my devices that require it can not be used now.
At first, there was no problem with the speed of the network, but when I discovered that there was a firmware update and installed it, the problems started.
The three Deco units lost contact with each other. The app did not find all deco devices. It got a bit better when I restarted the device that is connected to my ADSL modem but still after restarting all devices including the phone with the app it's:
    - Instable. The deco devices often lose contact with each other. Sometimes several times a day. It works to use them so I do not know if it's app it's a problem with. I've later noticed that if any of the devices upload a lot of data, the Deco devices lose contact with each other.
    - Sometimes there is a break in the connection, for example, I can not surf or do anything at all, but it resolves itself after a few minutes, although it lights up green on the Deco devices. When I look at the Deco app, it then complains that it has no contact at all with the Deco devices.
    - The app, almost every time, when you start the app, says it is not in touch with the deco devices, but goes on to the app so there's a contact.
There is also a place in the app where you can find events that have happened. In my case, I get events that have happened to my devices 3 weeks before I bought the Deco system.
    - Poor in the network sometimes for some unknown reason.

So, if you want a stable and simple system to administer, you should bet on something else, even if it's a bit expensive or wait until most bugs are fixed.

I have nothing to complain about. I have only had this product for 3 days but it works just fine. Easy installation add nodes. How easy open port also worked well.
Has 30 down 2.5 up and gets out of this 29 down in all rooms and 2.30 up and full coverage
has nothing to complain about yet

The small complaint I have is that it's not possible to see if you are connected to the 2.4 or 5GHz band, and you can not choose which band you want to connect to

Because of that, there will be only a 9 in grade

Disgustingly bad product. It may be good for those who can not or do not care about networks. But my experience with that was horrible.

The first hour stumbled upon getting past the step of setting up Wifi networks, which did not work because I did not get to the Internet (their cloud login). Strange enough, it just flashed before something looked like I actually had the internet. It was about simple MAC locking, which could be fixed only by plugging an ethernet cable into a laptop in the other socket and approving the device (Bahnhof ... urk).

Well. The next hour was used to losing contact with the Deco network in the app. Please try again. Try again. Changes were not made. Everything was sick as a syrup because it probably has to go through their cloud portal. Gave up after an hour and started a device "dropped". Then things seemed to settle!

Could set up port forwarding, dns ... eh no settings own dns or dhcp server. Ok .. do not change what one gets outside ?? Uh. Wait now, port XXX is not forwarded but some others did it? Oh but now a firmware update note appears (while a device is lost again). Start updating and it will take a while. After rebooting, I get the same note again. Ok maybe updating in two-step router and late nodes? And what happens after this? Well, I'm notified that new devices are already detected on the network. Port forwarding stops working entirely for those ports that just worked.

Note that I also got worse ping on my 2.4GHz computer during gaming. Tested torrents and it does not mess up with that traffic. QoS did not work with "game" and "movie" as a priority, but had to prioritize the machine itself.

Checking how it sets itself over the WIFI channels and seeing that all the pucks are configured in the middle of the mess of channels 7 + 11 and the same at 5GHz. So no account for crashes is made.

Some positive things I will give:
+ Better speed than previously Asus N router. Also at 2.4GHz at the same distance.
+ Packaging and appearance have been prio.
+ Ready torrents without kidding together if you prioritize devices right.
+ Can give you exercise if you have to fit devices as "dropped".
+ Easy to set up Parental Control and QoS.

    negative:
    - Buggy like a fan.
"Feels good to be good things but in fact made by satan.
    - Made for puckon (may be a plus)
    - Unstable ping even in non-heavy traffic. However, nothing shocking.
    - Cloud account which not only makes it easy to configure, but can also be a serious security hole in view of the software experts we are dealing with.
    - USB cable + Ethernet cables stick out a little bit, so do not look as cute anymore.

Have had problems with several routers for many years. They turn off and the Wifi coverage disappears look as tight.

Now we live in a two-storey house, a total of 250 sqm and my Asus RT-AC66U did not have a chance to cover even a quarter of the house. Was recommended this system and bought it when Kjell & Company had 20% off a purchase this day in the local store.
Gave just under $ 2400 for that.

The system was childish easy to install and works clockwise! I get almost full bandwidth throughout the house as well as all over the plot closer to 1000 sqm.

Given that we have many "smart-home" solutions, we depend on a Wifi with good coverage.

We wanted a Wifi that would only work in all modes, as it does now!

Can really recommend this solution to anyone who wants a well-functioning Wifi network!

Good functionality, easy to set up and good user overview on the app. However, disappointed in the range and lack of WPS connectivity, therefore, only 5 stars. I have houses over 3 floors and thought 3 boxes were adequate, but the signals are too weak so I probably have to enter a 4th box. Compared to routes and extender, this is seamless and trouble-free with regard to the need to choose an access point. Also disappointing that there is no WPS access on the system. This means that many wireless connectors (printers, surveillance cameras, etc.) can not be connected, but must be linked to one of the boxes. That means you either have to stretch cables or buy extra box to access where you have chosen to have a camera or printer standing if it is not naturally associated with an optimal placement of the boxes. Still in trial after 3-4 days, but do not forget that I will deliver it all back within the "30 days satisfied" warranty at Power.

Smooth app. Can easily control the features you want.
    Easy to place.
Good with ethernet ports (2pcs / no) for example, Nas stereo etc.

Amazingly easy to set up wi-fi t at home, have tried countless many other brands, which are strulat and have been difficult to install, but these only work, and are very easy to install.
One on the upper floor, one on the balcony and one in the house, and gets acceptable coverage throughout the house, and also on most of the plot. Thinking about completing one more, so I get a full subscription of everything?
Have tested and get 104/105 (100/100) in most of the house.

The girlfriend got fiber installed and the accompanying Technicolor AP left a lot to wish for the reception. Bought this the most on the test, and it works great.

Has two pucks in the middle floor and one in the basement. She now has> 100 Mbit from Bredbandskollen in the whole house as well as most of the garden (worst place in the garden> 50Mbit). Using two of the puckers as wireless client for the IP TV boxes (why do not Ip-Boxes come with Wi-Fi 2017? ?).

The installation in my case stretched some, my copy had probably been out of customer, when all the devices had to be reset before they could be installed. The manual and app were not helpful at all to clarify that, if so, without the status-led flash that was not available as an option under the installation reference.
But only that thing was coming out of the world, the installation was exemplary simple, almost Apple-smooth.

    Two things that bother me:
    - You must get an account at TP-link to run the installation.
    - Remote configuration is always active (have not found any way to turn off). The login is only protected by the use of the TP Link account. May not really be 2017 safe.
