Am very satisfied. First bought a PS4 Slim, but replaced it already after a few days. Want to be able to run F1 2016 without lag or framedrops and there the Slim version was not enough. With Pro I get stable 60 fps and 1080p without framedrops!

First thought that the Pro version would overheat and that the fan would sound huge, but Pro is almost as quiet as Slim and then I have driven about 5-6 hours without my Pro being neither very hot nor that the fan runs more than normal a little then and then.

I only run 1080p yet, but have little to grow into until the next day I buy a new TV that will become a 4K.

    benefits
+ Fast, able to run all games at 60 fps and 1080p (except those locked at 30 fps)
+ Quite small, does not take up so much space
+ Quite quiet (not as quiet as PS4 Slim but almost)
+ Quick and easy menus (much better vs Xbox One)
+ Ready for 4K and HDR
+ Future-proof! Will pass all upcoming titles in the next few years without a law (iaf in 1080p)
+ Price SEK 3790 incl. The game Horizon: Zero Dawn in my case.

    drawbacks
    - Lacks Ultra HD Blu-ray player which Sony should have standard in PS4 Pro!
    - Can pull a little too much power in the power save mode for my taste.
    - The battery life of the gamepad is quite short (when compared to the Xbox One's gamepad)
    - The fan may start to sound if you have the PS4 in tight spaces with poor air conditioning.

    Edit: updated 2018
    - 1TB HD is in the smallest stock (has already filled it with games after 1 year and must uninstall and clear often)
    - The fan may let out some from time to time (make sure to clean the fan every year so it gets quiet)

Edit: Has been running for almost a year now and the console stands. Have made my PS4 Pro a racing simulator in the living room with chair (Playseat Challenge) and steering wheel (Logitech G29) and run titles like Project Cars 2 and F1 2017 and they roll in stable 60 fps and 1080p.

The next step will be to get VR, but I'll wait until the next VR version CUH-ZVR2 is available in Sweden. Blogged about the updated version here

Unable to operate 4k games without the fan sounding like a threshing plant, even though the console is completely dust free. Being forced to lira at 1080p resolution because of this. Incidentally a nice console, but the overall impression is drawn down by the terrible fan sound ..

Had a lot of fun with this, but some major drawbacks pull down the grade.
    - In some games, the fan sounds worse than the vacuum cleaner. The worst thing is in Spider-Man.
    - Stuffed animal. The price has not fallen at all in 3 years.
    - Playing online requires a subscription. What if Steam had started with monthly costs?

However, the selection of games is excellent and the hand control is well in hand.

As usual with Sony's consoles, a newer one is improving the previous generation. I now have a 4k TV but I see noticeable improvements in 1080p: better contrasts, detail reproduction, colors, blacks. But also better framerate where in shooters can make cool panes without the picture lagging, everything gets a smoother and clearer flow. After a few years on the neck with later games, the fans get to fight in my PRO which is the first generation. Unfortunately, when there is a lot of gambling, it will be noisy.

+ Playstation variant that can handle the following:
    * 4k resolution, is about a scaled 4k, which works very well. Provides sharper textures, better edge aliasing, especially in environments and distant areas.
    * Sometimes 60 fps are also supported, giving more images per second, the image is more smooth.
For the price of around $ 4,000, you can not expect the Ps4 Pro to handle all of these at the same time (my 18k high-end computer can not handle it at all).

+ HDR that provides more realistic colors and greater spectrum in the dark and lusts.
    + Faster charging times.
+ USB on both sides (no longer need to be wrong!).

+ - New design on the console. To me it's a lift, for others not.
+ - The price. You get more out of your console, but it's really about how graphically interested you are.

-Not all supported games. Some (older) games you will not make any difference at all.
UPDATE Ps4 has now launched something called Boost mode that will give better performance to older games without the need for patchas.
-The choice not to include 4k blu-ray player gives it one star less. They expect to stream 4k movies online, but the supply is very limited right now and you also need fast bandwidth.
    - Can add a small detail, and it is the button itself to eject the disc. The size and its location are absurd.
-How lately, have begun to sound very strange.

There are thus improvements to expect for both FullHD and 4k users.

Uncharted 4 and Horizon are some of the coolest games I played, (even compared to PC) from the environments to the smallest beard stub without noticeable aliasing!
    4k makes a difference!

There are also improvements to PSVR. Have tested a couple of games and is mostly about improved anti-aliasing and slightly sharper textures.

Finally: Definitely satisfied with the upgrade!

    As a playstation, though better?

So it works well, but it hardly feels revolutionary. RDR2 was fine in guess.
Affordable gaming experience though, it's a capable machine you get for the money and it doesn't sound like a server hall (yet in any case).

We bought this console for the kids (7 & 11) for Christmas and everything has worked as expected. We were debating between the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. i wish that we had gone with the Nintendo Switch only because we could use the TV while the children played.

Upgrading from the PS3 to the PlayStation 4 was an easy choice. The console is a upgrade and the graphics are picture perfect. The controller is also much more comfortable, even though the touch pad seems a bit much and isn't used too often. Unfortunately the PS3 games aren't compatible with the new console, so you need to pay for them again if you want to play them on the new console. Another miss from Sony is that this time you need a PS4 Plus membership to play online This doesn't distract from the great console it still is. Even though rumours about the upcoming PS5 are starting- this is still fantastic entertainment for someone who wants to treat themselves to a new gaming console.

    4K HDR? For a joke!

It does not work well for 4K HDR as it delivers WONDERFUL framerate, washed out graphics that are devoid of detail. At the same time, it becomes very hot.

Completely hopeless product. Instead, go for a PS4 Slim.

The first console I have bought since the first Xbox and it does more or less what I need. Mostly buy my games for PC but when the playstation has some exclusive titles (mainly JRPG) I thought it could be worth the money, especially when I bought it in the middle days when it was down at 3290.

One problem I have with it though is that it sounds worse a hard drive from the 90s when it starts up a game, now I do not know if it is so with all models or if it is just with my but I have to start from what I actually got it. Otherwise, it is quite quiet when it is actually running.

Something more I would like to mention is that Sony has stepped up the censorship of its Japanese titles since moving its headquarters to California two years ago (perhaps not entirely unpopular in view of the culture there) and may be more or less hostile to smaller game makers now and set censorship requirements within one month before release.

Besides that, there is no problem whatsoever with PS4. Of course, you will get a better gaming experience on a gaming PC for 10k + than a 3 ~ 4k console but if you, as I am interested in their exclusive titles, it can definitely be worth buying, and if you plan on playing newer games with a little bit More demanding graphics can definitely be worth spending a little extra on the Pro model if it's an exclusive title or if you don't have a gaming PC.

    Wonderful console!

Can also confirm that the Web Hall Sisjön today (29 / 12-2018) sells CUH-7216B freestanding for you who want the latest model that should be a little quieter and more energy efficient. Media Markt Högsbo also had the same model inside. You save money on buying a stand-alone CUH-7216B than buying the RDR2 package, which it also has the new model.

Standalone model + 5 games (GoW, Horizon: ZD complete edition, TLoU remastered, spider man and Detroit: BH) became a total of 200 SEK more expensive than the RDR2 package that goes for 4990kr. Value!

Edit: had been able to get freestanding + 5 above mentioned games for only 90kr more expensive if i had bought online but eager as you are i wanted to have everything from shop the same day :) buy! Affordable during the interim news, however, NOT in the RDR2 package!

Updates later when I tested the noise level.

Now that Pro has been updated with Boost Mode, you can get a snap better framerate and faster loading times in older PS4 game games that are not optimized for Pro. But some older games get Pro support anyway, as it seems (No Man's Sky, Dark Souls 3).

Edit. Have owned it since release:
    A PS4 Slim for 2500kr or a Pro for 4000kr (today $ 4500!) - that's what's the matter.
(Keep in mind that Slim and Pro only have a new handset with a little better battery life)

If you have not seen / bumped into framerate / play in games, you're advantageous on PS4 Slim, which is also much smaller, quieter and nicer than this ugly booty.

If you have a 4K TV then it's better with a Pro. The graphics benefits are barely noticeable on a 32 "TV, so rather, it's better from the frame you want to access.
If you want the best PS4 experience, then Pro + SSD is true (SSD only provides marginally faster charging times but the machine will be quiet). Since all PS4 now supports external storage of games, one can drive on a 500GB + SSD and store large games externally.

Since the Swedish state has introduced the chemical tax, it has become a little bit more expensive while a Nintendo (known for its flame retardant in quantities) switch is only getting less than $ 50 more expensive. This is not Sony's fault, but it makes it, in my opinion, a little too expensive, unfortunately. 4000kr is the pain limit for such a sloppy built product that often starts to be weaned and is not as well-designed as Xbox One X (which lacks good play).

    Plus:
+ Pro has 3 USB ports (one extra there at the back) compared to Slim with only 2 pcs.
+ Support for a little faster charging times compared to Slim.
+ Best way to play the PlayStation-exclusive games.

    Minus:
"Most of the Pro starts with time, something is unbelievable when driving at 4K or 60fps, which means you prefer to go back to 1080p / 30fps, but most often you do not get this and you have to get out of the noise.
    - Due to forced updates and optional alternatives, you can not choose, for example, 30 fps in Dark Souls 3 but are forced unlocked / bergodalbane framerate so it's in my opinion completely unplayable on PS4 Pro, while it's 30 fps with a lot of drops on the regular PS4. PC is best when you can choose to lower the graphics settings, something that does not go to Pro. In theory, Pro could run DrkS3 at 60 fps if it had only been possible to drag down some graphics settings!
    - Big and ugly and eye-catching USB outlets on the front that you can not fit with many USB flash drives (can be sanded off a little plastic and fit if you can!)

Updated after over a year of use!

Playing on 60 inch 4k / HDR tv and the difference to 1080p is really striking! Games with HDR (* read more about HDR at the bottom!) Look even better!

The world's 3 most beautiful games are all PS4 exclusive, God Of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4th Thief's End. Not even Pc or Xbox One X adds to this on the paper much weaker console! So you want the best looking or the best exclusive games there is only one option, Playstation 4 PRO!

4k resolution (usually scaled up) gives clarity, sharpness and better anti-aliasing that you do not get in 1080p, the difference is really big! You also get HDR on many games (your tv must handle this of course), which makes the games get another lift graphically. Ps4 PRO is on the side of a much stronger PC (which is also significantly more expensive) and there is very little that separates the games graphically thanks to very good optimization for PRO's advantage, a PC monitor also does not have HDR which is a shame as this makes that the games look extra good.

For those who do not have 4k Tv / Monitor than thinking about buying, you'll know that the Ps4 Pro is much quieter than the old Ps4 in tests, it has a bigger fan and 30% larger heat sink to keep it quieter and cooler. My old Ps4 made the fan really bad and new Pro is much quieter when I compare the two.
You also get more pics per second (fps) in most games (both online and singleplay) such as Battlelfield 1. Some games like Battlefield 1 also look noticeably better on PRO and flow better even without 4k TV / monitor and you do not get hacking in the image that may seem disturbing.

+ Large selection of exclusive games (unlike Xbox One).

+ 4k resolution (usually scaled up) - The games look much sharper and better, eg shadows, details and everything far away gets much sharper!

+ HDR - Gives the graphics an extra boost.

+ Better flow in game against regular PS4 (fps, images per second).

+ "Boost Mode" - Older Ps4 games float better without "hacking" (better fps, images per second) and even charging times can be reduced (charging times apply to certain games), even if the games have NOT been patched by the developer to take care on Ps4 Pro's improvements.
NOTE! Do not forget to turn on this enhancement since it is not enabled from the start!

+ Better / nicer graphics in games without 4k, (game developers choose themselves if they want to patch this).

+ Much quieter than old Ps4.

+ New controller (V2) with better battery life, 13 hours or more (about dual battery time against first hand controller).

+ Extra Usb socket at the back.

+ Possibility to connect external hard disk drive.

+ Stylish console, especially if you set it up with Sony's original foot (PS4 Vertical Stand D-chassis new PS4 for 245kr), it also takes less space standing!

Other: Leave in my old Ps4 (on Gamestop) and leave 1800 kr in between (on release date), the lift from regular Ps4 and Ps4 Slim is really worth the money!

    * What does HDR mean and why is it so good?

The simple explanation is "better pixels instead of more pixels" where HDR offers enhanced contrast range with much better detail in dark / light scenes, and enhanced color management with more shades and depths in the image. The idea is simply to make the image more realistic and restore how we see people in reality where, for example, a dazzled sun will give the same effect as when we look through the window.

    Edit:
List of over 50 games running in 4K:
    https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/ps4-pro-enhanced-games/

Maybe hard-minded for some, but I hit when I wanted to renew the warranty period and get a quieter ps4. Then I have a 4k display, so would be prepared for upcoming games, like horizon zero dawn and everything from rockstar.

With that said, I'm impressed by games like the last of us, world of tanks and trackmania turbo.

Driving 4k gives an extra kick for the experience and now I'm running netflix / youtube with 4k, as usual ps4 does not.

Very satisfied. Good with a PRO tab in the psn menu, so you know folding games that are optimized.

Did not saddle old, fun with an extra ps4 in the bedroom actually. When you log in with psn on one, others log out automatically, so no problem changing rooms. With two different PSN accounts, you can run MP with your family, so overall it feels like a good choice.

The rating is because there is no better console right now, then Sony has added value to VR and significantly more exclusive titles, so the rating will last for one year because of its value for money.

PRO is much more crisp in the picture of course.
Calmer console without hesitation and judging clearly.
Why buy the wolksvagen when you can drive lamborghini?
Pull one star out because of the larger size of the console and dual shock 2 empties the battery faster than DS1.
Then, uhd players without discussion should be standard on a pro model to promote the new format and give the pro version a little more gloss.

Had the very first version of Playstation 4 before this version and sir, starting with the size is much smaller. The fan's noise level is much lower, and the power! Noticed a little bit here and there in F1 2017 with the first PS4 version, with PS4 PRO it's all gone. Very powerful and have a lot of storage, 1TB are many games even if you buy digital on the Playstation Store. I do not have any 4K TV yet but notice better graphics yet, some heavy-duty games float so well that I wonder how I could even play them earlier :- I can not help but recommend the Playstation 4 PRO, it has it all! Not just a video game without a multimedia system, with the support of most of us, for example, Viaplay for those who do not know, 4K resolution, blu-ray, games "you name it"

Now maybe I seem a bit critical ... I'm not actually. It's a very good console basically, but I do not think the difference is a little small compared to the usual PS4. I have a 55-inch 4K TV, the best Samsung released 2015 and the only TV from one of the major manufacturers that actually support HDR from 2015. And I was disappointed. But differences were noted in.

Are there any disadvantages to this ...

    - Can not play 4K movies
    - HDR problems on some models
    - Supports eg not Dolby Vision if it would have a breakthrough in the future
    - No big difference if you do not have a 4K TV
    - Not a 100% leg-free experience (in menus, for example) despite dual processing power
    - Is the price (right now) defensible for the hardware? Sony utilizes the hype and takes overprice in comparison to the usual PS4.

    I like the pro version:

    - A little better graphics on the games
    - Better flow ... Something that is definitely noticed in FPS eg Call of Duty. Can clean out give advantage.
    - Really nice building quality ... Feels more solid open than the PS4 and guessing than sharper building quality than slim. Even the console I had was more fun to open was the original PS3. Then I have had several consoles since NES.
    - HDR ... makes a little difference. Have read that it improves the experience for VR. However, I do not use VR personally.
"My personal experience was that it was actually quieter than the usual PS4. My mind was not worth five ounces. At the same time, I only had digital games.
    - Like the regular PS4 and smart, the controls are so good. Love them. A step up from already good PS3 controls ... Although it's a bit of habit what you prefer ... Maybe I would have loved xbox controls if I played classic xbox since launch. Now I have played on the Playstation since the beginning of the 2000s. So why may I prefer the controls ... But whatever turns and twists on it, the PS4 controls are an improved version compared to the old ones. when it comes to ergonomics and response.

Good performance compared to PS4's original version, but it loses a few points due to many hesitant Pro-adjustments of games (focus on resolution rather than framerate, which would be much better) and the fact that they chose for no reason to not insert a UHD player in the console.
