Perfect warm and nice sound that never gets sharp and with these I can listen all day without getting hurt in the ears which I sometimes get with other lurks.

Have a couple at home that I run with Arcam rHead and that combination is amazing. Driver rHead with a Topping D10 DAC which also sounds really good for the money.

My second pair of HD650 drives me with a Nuforce uDac 3 which, despite much shit on the net sounds perfectly ok with the HD650. Got it for free so have had difficulty motivating to buy something worse for the job as I think it sounds good so may be upgrading when it breaks down.

Since you can buy all spare parts directly from Sennheiser at affordable prices, I expect that they will last a long time.

Have had countless kids before but HD650 are the ones that are best suited for me, I have arrived.

Probably the best headphones I owned and tried. Prefer these to much more expensive headphones such as Sennheiser HD800. The sound picture is amazingly good even if it is not "perfect" as you as audiophile often strive for it better. I use an Asus Essence III headphone amplifier and are quite satisfied.

Updating the review now 4 years later: I bought HD800 for the third time this summer (owned HD650 just as many times) over the last 10 years.

I have tried both headphones to a number of devices over the years apart from direct jacks on televisions and laptops:

    - Marantz SR6010 (AVR word. Price 10,000 SEK)
    - Pioneer A-70k (Stereo Reciever word. Price 10,000 SEK)
    - Asus Essence STX (Sound card word. Price SEK 1,500)
    - Asus Xonar STU (DAC word price 3,000 SEK)
    - Asus Essence III (DAC word price 17,000 SEK)
    - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 (Motherboard words price 1500 SEK) (2013) with Realtek ALC1150 115dB SNR HD Audio, dedicated amplification and op-amps
    - Asrock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX / ac (Motherboard word price 2000 SEK) (2018) with Realtek ALC1220 HD Audio with dedicated PCB lines for L / R and among other things. Toslink out
    - LG Optimus One (Mobile word price 4000 SEK) (2011)
    - HTC M9 Prime Camera Edition (M10 with M9 must type) (Mobile word price 5500 kr) (2017)
    - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (Mobile word price 3500 SEK)

Conclusion: After purchasing the HD800 for the third time this summer, I have decided to never again get these again ... the treble is simply too sharp. The HD650 has more bass and a "darker" sound that is far more satisfying than the HD800. In addition, the HD650 is more comfortable for the ears in the long run ... I don't think I'm allergic but HD800 scratches and sticks after very many hours of listening. The HD800, on the other hand, has a very attractive "clarity" and resolution that I miss from the HD650. Had the existing audio image of the HD650 with such a resolution, it would probably have been the best earphones on Earth ... according to my preferences.

Next week I will buy HD650 and never intend to sell them ... May be for at least 10 years to come. So for more expensive headphones that I intended to have as a compliment, it becomes type Audeze.

Very good headphones, fits well with all kinds of music, but best for acoustic, jazz etc.
You will get close to how the music will sound.
Nothing for bassheads, middle bass, deep bass, but it's also the right button.

I run these with a Hegel Super DAC + Aune X7S, which fits very well when I think the HD650 should pair with an amplifier for the 'hot' way, ie pure Class A amplifier.

9/10 - did not hurt with a little more mid / deep bass.

Have tried some of the usual headphones in this class with the brother.
DT 770, AKG something (he sent back these ivf) and Philips Fidelio X2 bla.

The HD 650 was most comfortable in comfort and has had trouble wearing headphones for more than 45-60 minutes without bleeding my ears. Has a large head (62-63cm circumference?).

770 clicks after a while. Fidelio is sitting well too.
But 650 have I had on me longer times when I borrowed them for testing.

The bass was not as strong in these I want to remember but that voices appear very well.
Sounds to play I thought about these when I play Quake a lot,
Lightning-gun (it's a very crackling sound that is easily annoying) gives a more comfortable sound than 770 in any case.

I think they are open and airy and comfortable.
I can easily raise my voice (when I do not hear it myself) when I sit and converse in a microphone.

Have had these for a little over a year now. amazing open fools with a warm and natural soundstage. They are not a direct excitement like the Philips X2 but they are comfortable fools that provide a warm and precise sound. The only negative I can imagine is that they are not a wide sound, ie they do not sound like the headphones are bigger than where they are.

A little dull headphones in terms of price, they are by no means bad but for 3000 kr, I think better headphones are in my opinion. I recommend listening to eg Denons, Beyerdynamics and Ultrasonic headphones in the same price range first if you are considering buying these or AKG K701.

    Absolutely wonderful headphones.
Have had these a couple of months and I'm trying to find something negative to say about them. It is very difficult. They may have a little too hard pressure on the head but not so that they are uncomfortable in any way. Soundly, they are the best I listened to. Resolution, balance, instrument separation, everything is perfect.

They have an impedance of 300 ohm so they require a good headphone amplifier.
I use them for my Antelope Discrete 8 sound card and it sounds very good.

Now in 2018, the headphones I bought in 2006 will start giving up, after using them almost daily for long periods of time. It's good value for money, and I thought it was time for a review.

During these years I have done everything possible with them. Listened to music, played games, mixed movies and music, and much more. They have been faithful traveling companions and used in everything from high end hifi to mobile phones. I will not write plus or minus, but just points and reflections. The kids are not perfect, but they are very good if you know the limitations.

    - Assuming you have a good dac, they deliver a very good sound. However, it is not an honest sound, something that you must be aware of, especially if you mix. For example, the base is too high and personally I can not make a final mix because I always put on too much reverb.

    - They are easy to clean, just pop up, and there are spare parts to buy if, for example, the cord breaks, something I've done several times.

    - The longer I had them, the more often I have had to clean them. Possibly because it is not possible to access everything completely, and wear and tear. It can be difficult to get rid of all the hair that gets stuck in the caps.

    - There is also a weakness in the spikes that attaches the cord to the actual naps. Several times I have had to replace the cables for the sound to begin to sound.

    - As with all these tricks, they take a lot of space around the ears, limiting how and how they can be used. Tex if you need a hat or want to lie down and listen.

"They're pretty good even if you're just driving them through the phone, though you need a good eq to compensate for the phone's shortcomings. Tex viper4android (which requires root).

I'm supplementing more here if I get something important. That is, this text remains, I have not come up with any more worth mentioning. Good tricks, but my next one will probably be even more honest. I have not decided a model yet.

Bought at NetOnNet for 2738 kr.
Very neutral headphones of the reference class. One of the most neutral headphones on the market. Very clear details and fine sound. Slightly darker than the other headphones I own.

Needs to be driven by a headphone amplifier to achieve the highest potential, impedance of 300 ohms.

Should not really add much more than what others said, but this is quite incredible sound. Listening to the very rock / progressive metal and it has certainly never sounded better. Never in the same way could close your eyes and dream me away in such a warm, clear and wonderful soundscapes. The price is not really dangerous for what you get!

Legendary and teeming headphones reference class. It is simply impossible to reach this level in this price range, in my opinion.

You will first take of them right after the music been launched to find out if it really is from the headphones will sound. Great feeling.

Very good sound and is soft and comfortable.
The only downside I think, is that the efficiency is a bit low. This means that one must have a competent headphone amplifier that can provide high output voltage if you want to play loud. A headphone amplifier is powered by ± 15V or higher voltage supply I recommend. There are not many who can do it.
At the age of 59, I could hear from 12 Hz to 18.7 kHz through my Sennheiser HD650 headphones (in May 2013).

Noticing that the sound is colored compared to the AKG 702, but both are really good headphones with a little
    different uses.

Have AKG 702 for surround sound, instrumental and classical.
Does the HD 650 is better suited to modern music.

The best music headphones I've ever had. Very important as many have said is that you have to supplement with headphone amp for these to work optimally, and to a dedicated DAC is never wrong if they are to be used, for example the computer.

I was reading and had me for over 24 hours (in a matter of days), before I finally decided on these. The most expensive headphones I've had, but oh so worth the money! Pushing them with the D / A converter / amplifier Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus, which was purchased the same day.

I tried first with the handset, an S3 with Siyah Kernel (which contains an audio fix that makes incomparable difference) before I was able to unpack my dac. Comfort? Wonderful, especially compared to my other kids, Denon DN-HP1000, which is not so comfortable. In comparison with the Sennheiser HD650 do they practically hurts! BUT, my Sennheiser went so clearly not running properly right out of the mobile, so first impression was more or less "jaaaaaaa, this is all right ..." Once I got cramming them into my dac it was instead "the top! " as was the reaction. No orgasmic feeling directly, but definitely the best I had heard in the audio path (no, I have not heard much of it better, unfortunately). As has headphones just sounded better and better, and the sound will learn further improved (they are said to need some recording, which has sued so far).

The sound is detailed, so much that I can hear new details! All sounds are also more character and becomes more of a pleasure to listen to, the sound would have a "veil" may be true, but in such a case, the right well by my dac, then sound to me sounds very airy. The soundstage is not anything wrong, "three-blob soundstage" is usually some say, but it really is a strong exaggeration! Sure, the sound would clearly have been better, but on the other hand, this is actually "just" a handset for around 3000 bucks. A very good one at that! :)

My best headphones. have driven them both XCAN v3 and Beresford Caiman. Sits very nice and sounds generally nice and high resolution. In my öroin they let a little too bright and lacking a bit of ground but given that I believe that these are the best of the more than 20 different headphones I've used so it bothers me so much,

Have used my kids a little more last year, so thought I would update the score.
I have also removed the padding in lurern, what lies ahead elements to your ear. It was actually a pretty big difference, feels like a veil has been lifted and the sound is clearer now. On the whole, it sounds wonderful. Very airy and big sound and sometimes it really feels like you do not have kids wearing even. Superb comfort is there on them too. Will not really anything to complain about actually having them. Possibly it might enter into some different cable lengths or something, so they themselves could decide the length of cord you want in that case.

Chose as previous between these and AKG reflurar. Was looking for something more bounce in the bass and the choice fell on the Sennheiser headphones.

Have not been recorded quite yet, waiting with a purchase of a good DA converters to be procured next month when the budget is cracked this month. Will update when tested with headphones.

Plays music through my computer to an older Pioneer reference amplifier and now I can say that it is pure delight o listen to music.
What details you have missed previously. Lovely tight bass. Plus, you do not notice the headphones, sits really nice.

+ Details of the sound, good bass.
Sits really nice. Can sit on for hours.

    - Requires a good amp to deliver.
Something plastigt look to be lurking in this price range.
Open lurking, his partner hear what I listen to 15 feet away. ;)

    Additions:

Now they run and an HRT Music Streamer II, 2011 Edition is purchased.
    Damn what a sound!
Insanely good combination of listening to music from the computer.
Ps. Run course still sound from the Pioneer amplifier.

Having just purchased the Sennheiser HD650 which according to me sounded better than the AKG K702. Damn I wanted to have the AKG. Linked them to my computer's built-in sound card. Played the headphones for about 15 hours o yeah they actually sounds better already BUT! I have a pair of Philips HP890 that I plug in the same way as HD650 o HP890 lets two snap better on a 10gradig scale which is horrible when I now have brand new 2700kr lurking. Philips is located at Impedance 32 ohm while Sennheiser is located at 300 ohms. Slow driven singing. HD650 must be better in some way than the Philips otherwise I leave them back. With a headphone amplifier and an Asus Xonar I hope to get pressure on the headphones but I am very afraid that they fail.
Those of you who are wondering, loose cord on my Philips HP890 o anyone who had these kids know what I mean when I say that they're playing damn good o works everywhere for everything.
HD650 sounds very very good to Goa music according to me but HP890 sounds a little bit better endå where oxå.
Tips on how o with what I should connect my HD650 to get the grunt unbelievably good sound out of them all seem to have gotten are very welcome!
Tips on a couple of kids that are better than the HD650 for about 2000-3000kr, more easily driven with cruel bass is also with very welcome.

One should probably add quite a few thousand to be satisfied with their HD650. Thanks to me.

+ Sound. The tweeter is smooth / soft but without sacrificing clarity / details. Even the base plays in nicely.
+ Comfortable. Can sit on for hours.

    - / + "Need" amplifier.
-The sound image could have been a little better.

Really good headphones that you can sit and listen to for hours without getting tired. Operates with a Matrix M-stage amplifiers which are needed. Without the amplifier you use the headphones not full. First drove with only Udac but went after a while over the Udac -> M-Stage -> HD650. And after 100 hours played, it sounds damn good.

Well, what can one say. I will never be able to listen to the radio again, that's for sure. Every time I hear a sound loop or song that is NOT coming out of my Sennheiser, I think "wonder how this would sound out of my darling" ... jokes aside but the sound gets so deep that sometimes you can almost believe that there is another song. The sound is let loose and play with you as two lovers and I can not help but get goosebumps and just sit and smile to myself.

cups were very comfortable at first, but after half a day + using so they disappeared only. They may weigh a bit and if you think about them, you feel that it's reached that weigh a bit on the head. But mostly they do not exist there. certainly, it depends a bit on it a bit on physics but I'm a skinny short guy at 60 kg (just over 170 in length) and do not get me tired of the weight so most people should handle them in åtminstånde any hour.

3000: - I have to agree with a lot of money. It received when I pulled the card into the chip reader in the X-core store. But when I got home and connected them released all the anxiety. The happiness they give me so I could pay double. Now I'll just take me to afford to buy a headphone amplifier. hear heard that it will enhance the experience even further. I wonder if I will drop a tear of happiness? It remains to be seen ;)

If you have economy and loves music, please, for your own sake, INVEST in yourself! You deserve it!
