Okay, this is the build log for my 2013 Hackintosh.

For those of you who haven't seen, my list is here:
https://pricespy.co....?l=87271&view=l

Okay, so everything is ordered, will arrive tomorrow ( Saturday ), and then I shall actually start making posts here.

And also, I am going to name my build..... 'Sirius' .

Because I believe, every computer deserves an epic name. ( Probably the reason Ralph54 named his Dave. )

Also, Sirius is my middle name, which should let me devolop a better relationship w/ my build. :P ( After the star, not the Harry Potter character! )

I'm super keen to see this! I've thought about doing a Hackintosh. How do you get the OS software? And has anyone tested on the Haswell platform?

I'm not gonna lie that's a pretty epic middle name.

To get Mac OS X, you need an existing mac, and you just download the operating system from the Mac App Store ( Only $20, amazing price for IMO the best OS in the world. ) and then there is a utility to install a bootloader, and copies over the OS files. But if you want, I would be more than happy to make an iso and give it to you :) ( as long as you don't tell apple :P )

Haswell is working pretty well, but a hackintosh compatible haswell motherboard, does not exist yet in NZ.

Ah okay, sweet. Yeah that'd be pretty awesome :D I'll definitely PM you if I decide to do it. Can you dualboot OS X and Windows as easily as you can Linux?

Do you know what motherboards are compatible? I'm sure I could see about getting one.

Yes you can... Just get a bootloader from tonymacx86.... its free and he has tonnes of tools to make it easier for a user to make an hackintosh... oh and there's a massive list of motherboards somewhere, i stumbled upon it a little while ago, can't remember where it is though...

Just make sure it is his own copy, all paid for correctly. As for the "don't tell Apple", that should be more to do with their EULA which prohibits hackintoshes anyway rather than anything else.

Only illegal if you do it commercially, they just get annoyed with you if it isn't commercial.

For dual booting, basically, install Mac OS last, so that it doesn't overwrite the boot-loader.

~~~Build Update~~~
After scraping around in my pockets, I have found enough money to get a 1M Blue LED strip for my build, so I might go and buy that this afternoon, or tomorrow.
I was going to make my little brother a Hackintosh as he loves Apple...I may actually give him Epiphany and Hack' it, just so I can go IB-E...
Good luck w/ an Asus mobo.
Yeah I don't think any one stocks their SSD Chronos line yet. Haven't really seen any benchmarks yet for it though.
Their Blackline range is my personal fave.
CL does. The 480 GB (I think) model is very cheap for its capacity (< $1/GB).
OK, I am really annoyed.
I was planning on downloading Logic Pro 9.
BUT, Apple ( the greedy little idiots... ) have removed it from the app store, to make way for the new version, so I'm not happy.
So I better start raising $259 so I can get the new version...
( But I fixed my comma key! )
Pics will be coming within the next 5 minutes!!!
I used the screws.
And you don't have those screws, because you used them on your power supply.
