Hi all,

looking for a monitor for my upcoming build which will be used for 1440p gaming.

I'm wanting something with 144hz or more,

1ms response time

IPS Panel

Good colour

The PC that will be running the monitor has a GTX 3080 paired with a I9 10900K.

Budget is $1000

Best I reckon would be the LG UltraGear 27GL850.

Maybe $800-850 on special if you're lucky.

Depending on what games you're playing, you could even go 4k. Which I would recommend the LG UltraGear 27GN950, but the $1600 pricetag...

Yes, that looks like a pretty good choice. However, note that the useful response time is more like 5 ms rather than 1 ms – it can achieve 1 ms for some colour changes but with significant overshoot, so it is best to turn overdrive down slightly (https://www.tftcentr.../lg_27gl850.htm). I suspect that most IPS monitors will have similar response times, especially as I believe there aren't actually that many different actual panels used.
