Battlefield 4 Squad-Up Thread

Use this thread to talk about and organise games for Battlefield 4!

For anyone who has not purchased Battlefield 4 and/or Premium pay attention!

Using some...cheeky tactics, you can purchase BF4 + BF4 Premium for only $84.00NZD(898 pesos) via Origin Mexico.
If anyone still needs/wants to pre-order and would like to buy through Origin Mexico, I will happily walk you through how to do this.

N.B. - While it is perfectly legal to use this method, once in a blue moon EA notice you are buying games from multiple Origin regions and can stop your account from buying anything else. This is not to be confused with being locked out or banned. You can still add games to Origin, but you cannot buy from them. (Amazon is cheaper anyway)

Will definitely play on your server!

Hi Lads,

Looks like our server is up and running. It can be found here.

The current map rotation is: 1 Game Rush (MAP CHANGE) 1 Game Obliteration (MAP CHANGE) 1 Game Rush etc
I made it so there is a constant cycle through the maps to stop you getting bored of a specific one/learn all the others.

The server has VIP slots so I will be adding all the PriceSpy'ers to that list.
Priority for servers goes:
  • VIP
  • Premium
  • Regular Joe
I welcome suggestions to server settings and will be happy to change them if there is something you want to see more/less/none of.

More like three double-layer DVDs.

Unless they just use a single blu-ray!

That brings up a question. Why are PC games not on Blu-ray? I don't really buy the box versions, but won't most games these days take more than one dual layer DVD?

Because the vast majority of PCs don't have Blu-ray drives.

True, but surely the same would have applied for the transition from CD to DVD?

But would it be true to say that DVDs weren't only needed for gaming, where at this point in time, Blu-Ray is..?

Maybe, but even when DVD drives were just getting more common they didn't cost all that much – we got a DVD writer for about $100 in I think 2005, and readers would have been much cheaper.

But would it be true to say that DVDs weren't only needed for gaming, where at this point in time, Blu-Ray is..?

I think there's a good bit of that in it too.

Also, that was back before the days of USB sticks. So optical storage was a common thing for backups, and CDs were rather limited at 700 MB compared 4.7 GB!

So for anyone who has preloaded, you can start playing now if you use a VPN that is in America. I guess you'd have to play on their servers and have a pretty high ping but if you are really keen :P
