I'm currently using the modem given to me by Vodafone, and the WiFi doesn't quite reach everywhere in my house. I'm considering getting either a range extender (probably a Netgear EX6200) or a separate router (probably a Netgear R7000).

So, which should I get?

Well, for the router you'd probably have to connect it to the modem via a cable, whereas the range extender would probably just use the existing WiFi for its own connection (although it may be possible to also connect it via cable). Personally I would go for connecting it via a cable if possible, and would therefore choose a router.
