The family:
Finally I have everything, I was unbelievably excited to get the loop set up.

Posted Image

The pump assembled with the D5 reservoir top:
Awesome little bit of kit. Filling was really simple.

Posted Image

Fittings:
I ended up being 1 Monsoon fitting short, so I ordered some XSPC ones instead. The Monsoon fittings have a much better grip on the tubing, however the XSPC ones still work well. The Monsoon fittings are also much easier to loosen and tighten.

Posted Image

The radiators:
I ended up getting an XSPC EX140 and EX280. I couldn't be bothered waiting any longer for the Alphacool ones to arrive :P The 140 fitted beautifully in the back, however It blocks the top PCI-E slot, meaning I had to move my GPU.

Posted Image

I was happy with how the radiators fit in my case, my research paid off ><

Posted Image

Quick-Disconnect drain-line:
This thing proved invaluable when I was leak testing, it made it very easy to empty the reservoir and rearrange things!

Posted Image

Completed loop order mock-up:
After what seemed to be an hour of staring at my case and tracing imaginary tubing lengths between components with my fingers, I settled on what you see below for my loop order.

Posted Image

Leak testing:
Leak testing was incredibly tense for the most part, I felt very uncomfortable for the first half hour. I had one leak, and it was between the reservoir and the 90° fitting that connected to the QDC. It was a very small leak, only a dribble, but it proved pretty annoying to fix, and I had to fiddle with it a lot. I suspect it was because the piece of tubing coming from the radiator wasn't long enough, and it was pulling the 90° fitting on an angle, creating a gap in the seal.

The leak was here:

Finally I'm finished. Setting up the loop was super fun, and the temperatures are good. The loop has more or less removed to temperature limit for overclocking, and I did a bit of benching this morning. The lame part is that I seemed to have lost the silicon lottery hands-down, and my chip won't do very good clocks at all. It's a huge shame because it means that there is very little tangible benefit to this watercooling loop, hopefully I'll have better luck with an Ivy-E hexacore! Or possibly a Haswell chip, depends how tempting it is I guess.

Overclocking aside, the loop looks great and I'm happy with the noise levels. I have a GTX680 on it's way from the US which I will add to the loop, and I also plan to buy an extra couple of Apaches for push-pull, not because I need push-pull but simply because it will fit.

I'm sorry that this hasn't really been much of a build-log, when I made the thread I had big plans but I just haven't been bothered to take regular photo's and post meaningful updates. Next time I'll just do what I've done in this summary. Thanks for looking :)

Back to the work bench for a while today. My tubing was obstructing the installation of the newest member of the family!

Posted Image

2 leaks, 2 hours and half a foot of tubing later:

Posted Image

If I decide to keep it there'll be a waterblock on it before you know it. I'll need a couple of fittings and some tubing too, so I might have to do a PPC's order. Gah that tubing bend running towards the QDC's looks awful, I swear it looks much better in real life haha.

When and if I buy it again :S I might actually just wait until BF4, seems like a waste to buy BF3 this late in the cycle. Thing with AAA's is that once their successors release you can say goodbye to most of the decent servers. Happened with BC2, although there are like 2 decent ones still around.

I've been absolutely loving Bioshock Infinite. I bought Arkham Asylum and Arkham City too.

What other games could we play?

also is the define r4 very quiet? I am making some rigs for a local film editor and i think he has his mind set on it, also what is cable management and gpu support like. He wants me to stick a 3930k and p9x79 pro and quadro fx580 (not at all related to gtx580) in there

Yes it is. My rig isn't a perfect indication of one though because I have replaced the fans. The case has an inbuilt fan controller and the included fans are probably pretty decent. The inside is sound-dampened. Cable management is brilliant and you can get as long a GPU in there as you like, because the drive bays are removable. Even without removing them you'd fit a 680.

Yeah I've got Source, I haven't bought GO yet.

Dont bother. Its nothing like 1.6 or Source. It wasnt made by Valve. Its like Cod with no iron sights aiming.

I've received the last of the fittings I need from FrozenCPU:

-3x Monsoon fittings
-1x Monsoon 45° fitting
-An extra foot of tubing

My 680 block is on the way from GPForums' Pbaines, and I've got an NZXT sleeved LED kit and an XSPC temperature sensor on the way from Techworld ^L_^

I've assembled a little to do list:

-Move SSD to MB tray/wherever
-Cable management
-Add GPU to loop
-Sleeved LED kit
-Drill hole and screw down HDD rack
-Replace blue power LED with red LED
-(POSSIBLY) Windowed side panel

So there should be some updates in the next couple of weeks! You guys will have to help me out in regards to replacing my power LED, as I have no idea what I'm doing.
